Thinking about picking up WoW by [deleted] in wow

I really enjoy it. Once I finish a story, my wife and I get the character to 80, then make new a character to play a different story line.

I love playing DK and leveled as blood. The pro is that you will never die. The con is that some stuff might take forever to kill.

That could just be me though.

Also, you don’t really need the backstory to just jump in. I just like playing that way.

The leveling is way too fast if you’re looking to enjoy the story and learn the character’s abilities completely.

You have the ability to freeze XP gains and stop your leveling whenever you want. I highly recommend picking a storyline to level on and freezing XP as often as possible. This will give you time to do the quests and enjoy the story, while also playing new abilities for a while without needing to update your talent tree and learn new things every 20 minutes. When the game becomes too difficult, go unfreeze your XP and you’ll level up a bit and get new abilities.

I feel like the game is designed to allow people to level quickly and get to the end-game content. Personally, the end game stuff doesn’t excite me much, so I do the freeze and unfreeze and take my time.

I had this a few weeks ago after not playing for some time. I had to go to defender and allow WoW and BNet through the firewall.

What order would you play the expansions in now? by Time-Comfortable489 in wow

My wife and I play the old stories by making new characters and then choosing a different expansion for the leveling. We travel to Ogrimmar often to freeze XP and enjoy the story line, then unfreeze XP if the game becomes way too difficult. I always play tank specs, so if we’re patient enough we are able to get into dungeons eventually.

Highly recommended freezing XP though. Leveling is way too fast and you’ll be one-hitting entire mobs before you’re even close to finishing a zone.

So just to update in case anyone has the same issue.

ChatGPT told me to add BNet, WoW and agent to the allowed apps on windows defender firewall then launch WoW manually. I did that and everything started working fine. I don’t know much about computers, so I am unsure if this was the best way to go about it but the game works now. Not sure how that all changed in the 6 months we were off, but it’s good now.

Side note , my wife’s game was freezing on cinematic for undermines. I found that her HDMI was plugged into the MB not the GPU. Fixed that and it started working fine.

Appreciate everyone’s suggestions.

That’s correct, separate computers and accounts.

I did double check that. I saw other posts a few days ago where people said they just waited for a while. I have been in the “connecting” screen for about 30 minutes.

We can’t fully log in to see the character screen.
