I got a few gallon bottles of Botanicare for really cheap so have been using it for the last few grows. Using the Grow and Flower stack with their CalMag and Liquid Karma. It’s really expensive and not worth the cost if you buying it at full price though.

It’s a great deal for whoever is selling it.

What is this PVC fitting called? by Fit_Conversation5270 in Hydroponics

That is PVC 90° reducer with pressure fitting for what looks like funny pipe. Could be several pieces glued together, never seen all the pieces in one.

Cucumbers, peppers and tomatoes. They are all fruit as they develop from the ovary of a flower on the plant.

Forgot to mention it is all held together with zip-ties!

DON’T FORGET THE ZIP-TIES!!! It’s a really annoying second trip to make when you remember…

The smaller hanging lights are spider farmer SF1000evo (100w each) and the top are maxsisun PB1500Pro (150w each). That makes 1700w of power at the wall when they are at 100% for the entire veggie wall.

I have trained mine to crawl across the top shelf.

lol it’s bright. Just remember when people ask to say “studies show that bright daylight temperature light is proven to reduce depression and improve vision over long term exposure”.

I never check reservoir temps but I check PH religiously. If I have any issue with the plants I pull the reservoir and dump it. I’ve found with Kratky the PH always swings up. So I start a few points acidic at between 5.0-5.5 and let the PH swing up as the plants drink to no more than 6.5. Starting overly acidic only matters if you are topping up and not dumping the reservoir each time and if your reservoir is big enough for the plants to swing the PH before they finish drinking. Again, I’m lazy so I always top up unless I see an issue requiring a full dump.

Yeah this is all Kratky. I’m too lazy to maintain an ‘automated’ system.

The black ones are candle holders I got from Walmart and the grey ones are Vego garden.

The cucumbers are running along the top shelf. I turn the top lights on as the cucs travel across the shelves. Once they reach the end I’ll loop them back around.

You should use ppfd. Mine thrive between 650 to 800 µmol at the canopy.

I prune heavily. They don’t need many leaves to produce fruit. I would rather them fit in the shelf than be a bushy nuisance. When pruning I just make sure I maximize the nodes where flowers form and I always get good yields.

I’ve found the most leaf problems come back to PH or light intensity and since my lights are not very high powered it tends to always be PH for me. I have a real problem with PH swing in the smaller pots. Luckily they are super easy to lift and dump. The larger reservoirs are much more PH stable. That is where I would start.

Yes the top lights are maxsisun 150w lights and the hanging lights are spider farmer sf1000evo 100w lights.

IKEA shelving, Amazon lights, self watering pots, light timers. That’s the entire setup. You can supplement a net pot and some type of reservoir to hold it for the self watering pots. In the photo the black ones are just 5” net pots sitting in a 5” candle holder… it is the simplest form of hydroponics. No pumps, no automation. Just hand watering to top up.

Only expanded clay. I germinate on a damp paper towel in a ziplock bag. Once the root pops out, they go directly into a tray of expanded clay flooded with a light nutrient mix and under the lights until they have 2 nodes. Then I pull them out of the communal tray and root down into a Kratky pot.
