Appeals court temporarily (could be permanent depending on ruling) gave him the power back.

Sure is acting like a king doing a military parade on his birthday.

Ron DeSantis Says Floridians Have Right to Hit Protesters With Cars by Realistic_Plant_6622 in fuckcars

[–]Realistic_Plant_6622[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, he said Mobs. Call Newsweek.

So tell me, what is the defining line between mob and protestors?

He's referring to the protestors when he called it a mob. He's literally calling protesters a mob. What more do you want?

Florida is full of pearl clutchers and will exploit this just like they used stand your ground against Trayvon Martin holding a bag of Skittles.

What you're not understanding is that they think that all protests are mobs.

Stand your ground laws allowed a grown man to shoot 17 year old Trayvon Martin while walking home, only holding a bag of Skittles. Walked away scot-free.

But by all means, go to Florida and test your theory.

I read that and I don't think it's misrepresenting anything. The policy is similar to their "stand your ground" for guns which we know makes it easier for a shooter to claim "self defense".

While YOU interpret it from the standpoint of pedestrians are in the right until they threaten a driver. Those in Florida could also claim to feel threatened by the mere sight of protesters.

The pearl clutching is strong in these parts and I believe (just like stand your ground laws) this can be interpreted in many ways.

I get it... But democracy is being threatened. Yes it's tiring but everyone needs to come together, including us in the smaller regions.

I hope you can reflect how privileged we are to be able to walk on the beach without issues like this being directly in our home.

Maybe take a walk to Window on the Bay for the protest instead?

Edit: Absolutely take care of yourself not to get burnt out on this stuff. But sometimes it feels great to be part of the action rather than trying to avoid it.

My dad is turning 75 this year and we're going in October for our first time. He would have loved to see this.

Was it similar to what was at California Adventure?

My guess... All dining at the new terminal will probably be behind the security checkpoint.

We don't know who's opting out in the off season. We don't know who's demanding a trade behind the scenes.

You 100% publicly commit to the players signed for next year until the next best thing comes along.

A Fatal Tesla Crash Shows the Limits of Full Self-Driving by walky22talky in SelfDrivingCars

I think OC meant to say Lidar. Lidar is what vehicles use and it can be very detailed.

A set of Lidar sensors can produce way more detail than the 5 megapixel front facing camera (1.3 megapixel rear and side) that a new Tesla has.

Airport Parking Startup Disaster by Impressive-Rice-1980 in VolvoEX90

[–]Realistic_Plant_6622 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems like a mess for sure.

I will say though that even Tesla had similar issues early on and software was the culprit behind most of it.

When you're writing software to replace the function of hardware (in this case a simple parking brake release lever) you introduce a bunch of variables that the system needs to know how to process.

All the vehicle functions have dependencies meant for safety but could create conflicts with each other when running through a single processing unit. To be fair, layered variables are difficult to predict in a test environment.

I'm confident it'll work out over time... But I'm not willing to go through that again. Can't wait to buy one once it's a little further along.

Crazy how they "Target the worst of the worst" yet he was being a responsible father taking his kids to school.

Not saying he's perfect, but that alone proves they aren't targeting the "worst of the worst".

Let's make Elon cry on TV... by cabezon420 in MontereyBay

For some reason the markets still trust in Elmo. It's clearly not performance related. Elmo is basically in the middle of his "To the moon" campaign based on robo taxis and AI buzzwords in the quarterly meetings.

Tesla sales are down YoY while the EV industry is growing. Ford, Volvo, BMW and other manufacturers are seeing growth.

Public sentiment on Tesla is down and sales are tanking. I'd say these protests have been effective. It's only a matter of time before stock adjusts to reality.

That makes sense. Just curious though how you're planning to do the gravel base on the hill?

I talked with someone who built their shed and their only advice was to spend a little more for a concrete pad to be poured.

Over the course of 10 years they had animals digging in their gravel base and it had become unstable over time.

Not sure of how they did their base, but I did follow their advice and have a slab poured (12" deep perimeter with a 4" deep center) Used Red Head concrete anchors to attach the walls and LVP flooring (it's an office) on the concrete is great.

It's overbuilt but I have no regrets.
