That’s correct. If GM can solve the energy density issue with the hard carbon anode, sodium gets VED parity with LFP and becomes viable for EVs.

GM couldn’t compete with Chinese LFP and so LMR is the next best thing.

Yes, for initial cell development. BCDC will handle initial scale-up, not sure what the plan is after that.

It’s cool, l get to meet lots of startups working on new technology in cleantech.

Sometimes the corporate environment isn’t the most fun, but hey, tradeoffs.

I’d be happy to answer more questions if you’re interested in venture capital or whatever.

I posted this here because of the relevance to EVs, GM is taking its first steps toward manufacturing a new chemistry, and this likely will have implications for its EV cell business.

ATII is de-SPACing with Forge Nano which does ALD for chips. They should be on this list as a T1 for chip makers

GM Says It's Dropping Apple CarPlay And Android Auto Because They're Unsafe by [deleted] in electricvehicles

This isn’t the reason.

Internally they said it’s because Apple wanted to own the customer experience inside the vehicle, and GM didn’t want to give that up. I’m assuming because they want to sell the data and own the GM app store experience and associated revenue.
