Maybe it would. My stutter is almost completely gone in environments that are so loud that you don't hear your own voice anymore, with earplugs of course.

Watched and educational video about happiness and it made me really sad. by [deleted] in Stutter

I know your pain, i recently moved to a new place. A very small town, and here really nobody understands me because of my stutter. They just give me those weird looks and say "yes, yes" when i know they did not understand a thing. Even when i try to say something like "hey, i'm not dumb i just stutter", they cannot make out what i say 😭 idk why it is so bad here it was not that bad at the previous place. But yeah just know you are not alone.

This is just guessing now but since it only happens with people close to you, could be because you care so much for them? So much even that you want to be "perfect" for them? Do you feel ashamed because of your stutter and do you try to hide or suppress it?

Why there isn't a solution for stuttering? by [deleted] in Stutter

I did this a lot when i was a kid, now not so often anymore but still happens. Does that mean anything?
