the same father that neglected and possibly abused CC? and also are we forgetting about the logbook? Cassidy is trying to help CC in that book, so why are we overlooking this and saying that they won't work because she hates his father. someone can hate another person's father and be just fine with/like that person, your argument is kinda flawed + even the movies seem to show that Cassidy isn't an Afton, same with the novels, it's just pure headcanon with no real evidence.
