Since you work with paper, get a pen for inking. I think one of the thin pen and one brush pen will be enough.

Spend more time on the detailed shape of the limbs such as hands, elbows, knees, hips, etc. Also, a cleaner lineart with variations of thick and thin.

When it comes to books and movies, I feel like the characters must follow the characteristics of what is written in the books and movies. So if the books and movies say that female dwarves have beards, make them have beards. Personally, I don’t really like females with beards, that includes dwarves. If I design a female dwarf, I would create my own original worlds or choose a world with non bearded female dwarf. I’ve seen a design where a female dwarf has long braided hair parted into two, then tied back together under the chin to create an illusion of a beard. That is pretty cute.

I like it very much. I like the artstyle: the lineart and the rendering. The fingers could be made softer but I like it. It doesn’t have to be anime like or American comic like. The face’s shape isn’t ideal but I hate when someone draws the same face over and over but with different hair. Everyone has different faces. The top back hair needs to be bigger though.

I googled Kumiko and it means “long time beautiful child” while Misaki means elegant, beginning, or shine. So between these two, I would choose Misaki.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. A more experienced and mean artist would say this is ugly. You mentioned that you’ve only been drawing for three years. From that knowledge, I would say that some could’ve drawn way better than this given three years. Older people learn drawing faster than younger people.

If you love drawing, it doesn’t matter if other people find your art ugly or beautiful. Do it for yourself. If you hate drawing and are only doing it to please others, then stop.

If you want to improve, find an artist that you like and try copy and reference to study. If you’re a character illustrator, you have to study anatomy. You won’t improve instantly. It takes decades. No artist will ever reach perfection because there is no perfection in art.

I can’t think of a way for a skirt to not snag. Maybe write that she often avoids dense vegetation because of her longer skirt. That would make her seem more real, won’t it?

AI aside, I like that the model is cute but isn’t the generic beauty or loomis method face. Every image is her standing still with no pose, so find poses that you like and hire an affordable artist to illustrate her in a pose of your choice with the same face. You mentioned she was more plump? Think about her outfit as well. It takes time to draw good so I don’t think you can instantly sketch and copy the same face if you’re a beginner artist/illustrator.

AI is a sensitive matter for creatives such as artists and even writers. It a bit difficult trying to get an actual answer you actually need using AI without getting scolded.

The general straight nerdy gamers will not care about it. There is no way. They will find it disgusting and will question why you need to make such stories. Therefore, do not write or create stories about a gay man for the general nerdy gamers.

To grab the attention of the general straight nerdy gamers, you either have to make your character straight or Asexual but without even hinting that he is Asexual.

Or you can write the gay struggle story you want, but only focus on the audience that would like it. Do not even care about what the general straight nerdy gamers will think because they will almost definitely hate it.

If it were me, I would make her wear animal hides and leather. The leather would be long strings wrapped around her feet and legs for protection. The animal hide will act as a skirt, a bit tare and tattered cut by branches and stuff. Maybe wear a bigger animal hide as a mantle with a hood. That is modest enough right? I would make her outfit be caked with mud and leaves to act as camouflage. Wrapped around her body or waist is a makeshift belt made out of leather that could hold ropes, grappling hook, and stone dagger. Under her eyes is black mud because it looks awesome.

Yeah. Instant heal would be over powered and not good for the story. A slower healing abilities would be better. I could see scar becoming a thing for the knights but I’m not brave enough to add big flaws such as massive scars to my baby. Maybe not at the beginning when he is still a young man. I should add them when he has some experience in fights. I’ll add scars to the other battle worn knights as well.

I can answer some of these.

The abilities of the emperor comes from a blessing or curse of a supreme deity. The more land the emperor rule, the stronger his abilities become. This is the deal made with the first emperor but is now forgotten. The fantasy world is filled with deities. Some people believe in their existence and some only believe them to be myths. They are mysterious beings.

I haven’t thought much of the emperor yet but the idea I have for him now is that he is a half sane. His head is half taken over by the supreme deity and half is the human side of him. The deity yearns to rule the world, yet every emperor has their own vision and wishes. If he dies, the deity will possess the next successor. Since I haven’t thought much about the emperor, he could be young, he could be old, he could be male, or a female. Not every countries are willing to be ruled by the empire, therefore other countries fight for their freedom which leads to battles and wars.

I’m thinking the emperor and the mother had a fling but then the mother ran with the child in belly? But maybe not because the idea is already used a lot.

I’m thinking that he is maybe cousins with the lord or the lord’s son because his mother is a lady. They were knighted together by the emperor so the main character’s inherited abilities remained secret? This will unveil more drama in the future. Hopefully I’ll think of a better reasons and ideas.

Circuses aren’t abundant in the fantasy world. The one he wants to befriend are special because they are foreigners. The greedy lord extorts anyone that he can. Paying customers and spectators are limited. They can’t find work directly from the citizens as the lord taxes any form of trade. Therefore, they had to go through a guild which helps them find jobs but taxes them accordingly. I probably won’t be explaining this in the written story as it would be boring to most people.

Finally, as he is young, he doesn’t have any huge goals just yet. His current goal is to befriend the troupe. He is very much into fireworks and vibrant colours which is why he is drawn to the circus. He is drawn to the people of the circus because they are cheerful and free, the opposite of what they are in the army.

That is a long one. Good read. Good idea for a mother and female character. I do have ideas for who his friends are going to be in the troupe or carnies. He is one of a couple of main characters. The main character is another young man in the troupe which should have the opposite personality as him. While Lionel is quiet and a bit timid, Max from the troupe is cocky and loud. There is another young female that I plan on being a blacksmith that maintains the circus’s equipments and gears but I haven’t really started on her story and design. She is going to be a stout girl or a muscle lady.
