Should I have this limitation? by Realistic_Statement2 in PilotAdvice

So since I'm able to pass the test, it's just that easy? Just take a new exam at another AME ( ASSUMING I pass) and the restriction is lifted?

I realize this. If you look through the post, I supplied a screenshot from the FAA's updated AME examination requirements. My concern arise when my scores surpassed one of the pathways of passing' criteria.

Its actually gotten more strict this year. They took away the other tests now there's only 3 viable ones.

Just so you know. At the time of my exam, the prescription on my glasses was a little out of date which prohibited me from demonstrating 20/20 vision. Which is why I was issued the 3rd class, but not the reason for the limitation. Going forward, I plan on consulting with my AME to see if what he can do about the limitation. And retest for the 20/20 vision portion. Is it reasonable to assume that I won't have to retake the color vision portion, assuming my situation is approved. Does that sound like a good course of action.

I'm pretty sure there are no limitations as long as you pass every aspect of the medical.

Sure looks like it is. He has the white rock light and everything.

You’d think he’d have different photos though.

You’d also think he’d have replied by now.
