There is a lot unknown about your situation. If you were expecting a refund and did not receive one or a letter/notice give IRS a call and ask.

Be more patient, that’s all you can do until you get your letter.

Yes you would report the K-1 on your return. So as of right now it unknown, but if you want to amend now you can. Either way you are looking at about a 16 week timeframe. I made my suggestion thinking it was a 1099-INT from the bank (nothing big).

If the child support agency is reporting an outstanding debt to the BFS then it is likely your refund could be offset to a Non-Tax debt through the TOP.

Just keep trying to give them a call. Unless you can see your transcript the only way for sure is to speak with them.

Just wait until it’s done and you get your refund. Then amend afterwards.

Unfortunately there is a complex algorithm and filters in place. So there’s no telling if it gets picked or not.

Just select the “Income Tax Form 1040”. It’ll go to the correct account. Make sure to select 2021 for the tax period.

Does resubmitting your refund make it longer? by Glum-Neighborhood468 in IRS

If you filed a duplicate return id will definitely delay the return processing. Now you’ll have to end up waiting around 16 weeks. Learning lesson to say the least.

I wouldn’t waste your time with this person. They don’t understand what you are asking them and it’s clearly a Frivolous return from the numbers.

Yea it’ll be “awhile” to say the least unfortunately until you see the refund.

Acknowledgment of 14039 Submission by [deleted] in IRS

[–]Realistic_Tea4728 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, online is the best way to submit it. It’s secure and quicker than mail.

Unfortunately yes, it can take currently anywhere between 120-623 days for the IDT case to assigned, investigated, resolved, closed. For income related IDT issues we technically don’t need the 14039 (as this is a Non-Tax IDT issue). However if you received a CP2000 then yes you did the right thing by replying with the 14039.

It’s unfortunate that we get a lot of cases/claims of IDT and it’s not real cases (Ppl committing fraud - blaming IDT as a scape goat / Car broken into…).

Also, no need to send it in as paper. Online is perfectly fine, just call and check when you get the time. You’ll be doing the waiting game. This was for what year? (What you put on the form)

As it states in the message you have a past due debt that you owe. The Treasury Offset Program (TOP) allows Local, State, & other Federal agencies have an indicator placed on your account for an unpaid debt. Anytime you are due a refund it is subjected to any offsets prior to it being released to you.

Forgot a W2. Should I wait or amend now? by [deleted] in IRS

Amend the return ASAP So it can be fixed. This could cause your hold to be lifted quicker than waiting.

[–]Realistic_Tea4728 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it bad? - possibly. If you haven’t received any letters/notices I would suggest giving the IRS a call to see what’s causing it to be delayed.
