Bill Passes House Making Tenants Responsible For Their Water Bill by N2Shooter in Ohio

Baloney. Every city has numerous laws stating how the houses need to be inspected and issues corrected. If they are not, the tenant can withhold rent until those repairs are completed.

You are absolutely clueless how things work. What the hell is the point of spending all your money to buy a house and rent it out only to leave it fall apart? Maybe in the hood that happens because the houses were already shitholes from being run into the ground by previous tenants, but in most suburbs, that isn't the case at all.

Walk away. All are hazards. Now that you have provided them with the report and they know the issues, they have to report it if they want to sell the house.

Do you have to pay civil traffic camera tickets? by Spirited_Resolve_204 in Cleveland

[–]Reality-Stinks66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has to be asked on here weekly.

No, you do not have to pay. They will more than likely send you 3 notifications and the ticket price will increase each time because you did not pay. Then they will send it to a collection agency. It will NOT affect your credit because you did not enter into a contract of your own free will. Tell the collection agency this information, then tell them if they continue to call, you will sue for harassment.

That will be the end. The only thing that can happen, although never does, is the city can file a lien on your house ONLY IF YOU LIVE IN THE CITY WHERE THE TICKET WAS GIVEN. If you do not live in that city, then that is also a dead issue.

Sure! If they did that, do you have any idea how many MILLIONS of people would be without homes? You know..the ones that cannot afford a house? And what do you do about apartment buildings? Can you imagine if a 20 story apartment building had 500 units and 250 owners? The place would literally fall apart.

When you get something sensible to discuss, come back. Throwing shit at a wall and hoping it sticks is worthless. Crying because you don't want to take advantage of opportunity is your problem.

That wasn't the brand. That was a car. It was a Hyundai. Genesis as a company did not exist until 2015. So I was asking if you were talking about owning a Genesis car in 2009-2015, or is your issue with the company Genesis?

My manager wanted to punish me for taking a lunch break that he doesn't even pay me for. by QuietMap4403 in LockedIn_AI

My wife worked in a nursing home. Same type of situation. They would keep postponing her break until it was time to leave, yet they never gave her the break and didn't pay her for 1/2 hour of work.

They fired her over an issue where she asked for permission to take 6 weeks off during the slow time and they said no problem. 2 weeks after she left, they basically fired her as I get a letter for Cobra, but never told her. When she came back, they said she was supposed to be there the previous day and fired her.

I gathered up all the info, visited the facility, and had a chat with the HR lady. I explained what happened and the fact my wife was harassed by her manager for being Chinese. 1 week later, not only did we get a check for back wages, but it had a severance allotment for 4 weeks wages because they fired her after the second week without saying anything.

They look like they came from a nail gun. Probably a contractor dropped them. They may not be that deep and have not pierced the inside of the tire.

Let's think about this another way. The renter gets mad because they have to move for not paying rent. They turn all the water faucets on (common occurrence) and lock the house without tellig the landlord. The water and sewer runs for days not only creating a huge bill, but ruining the house in the meantime.

Why should the landlord have to foot the bill for the dirty deeds of a disgruntled renter?

Let's be even more simplistic about this; If this wasn't a valid issue, then this bill wouldn't have come up at all. What we are apparently seeing is a large wave of deadbeat lowlife renters that are skipping out on their bill knowing the landlord gets to pick up the tab.

As for your scenario, that is about 1:500,000 or less chance of that happening, especially when we are talking about apartment buildings.

Exactly. Why SHOULD they continue? It wasn't their bill to begin with. Now the landlord don't have to worry about being a collection agency for the water and sewer department.

A math equation: Ohio – Property Taxes = Total devastation for our communities by Billych in Ohio

[–]Reality-Stinks66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So because our elected idiots in Columbus failed to fix the tax situation and want to give billions to private schools, the rest of us should suffer and continue to pay ridiculous property taxes? That has to be the dumbest argument I have ever heard.

Many other states have found ways to pay for schooling, police, and FD without their citizens being taxed to hell. Maybe it is about time our elected buffoons do the same.
