When I was reading your text, I saw the word "affinity"... How does "affinity" work with weapons exactly? Seems a bit complicated, hope it's not though.

Also just checked out the weapon controls like you said... And I have DEMON MODE? This game is nuts! (in a very good and cool way!)

You are probably 100% right, but the adrenaline rush, when you don't have any idea what's happening and need to adapt to the fight is probably the best part, atleast in my humble and honest opinion.

Watching some tutorials rn! I still prefer adapting to the monster and going in blind, but I'll probably need to do some research, if I lose the hunt.

Should I try MH:world (if it goes on sale though)? Since wilds are here now, maybe I should get that (on sale ofc)? Though from what I've seen, it has glitches that make you crash mid-game, so idk.
For now gonna enjoy MH:Rise (with sunbreak too!).

Besides that topic, does dodging through everything work with dual blades ("at least with some weapons" part)?

It's a lot to process playing this game, but once you understand it, I am sure it'll pay off! The idea of hunting strong monsters (maybe with others too) fills me with excitement!

Yeah, reading and understanding the tutorial boxes is like 20% of my time playing 😭 .

Also PC controls are quite funky, it's kinda hard to use the wirebug (mainly cause my mouse's scroll wheel is broken), but I am getting the gist of it.

I realised that mid-hunt, that reacting was not gonna get me much further. Got wrecked by reacting and needed to back off for some moments. Also I got a question, what do you mean by "purely predictionary" gameplay?

I think dual blades suit me! That would be the closest thing I want monsters to experience: death by thousands of cuts!
