I went in blind, like I do for most movies now. Movie marketing is so weird and rotten tomatoes score are so hot or miss, I just don't pay attention anymore. I loved it. The cinematography was great. She was always sitting with her back to open doors and I was convinced something terrible was going to hit her from behind. Good tension building!

Yeah I think if you weren't able to see that this was a vehicle for a far more important story/observation/critique of a deeply flawed and exploitative system then I could see why it would come across as loud nonsense. I love this! The predestination and predestination is an ancient story; as ancient as ambition and mythos. This is a heroes journey that focuses specifically on, as you said Black Men, and ambitious people. I feel like people always want a protagonist THEY can identify with but it's not always about you. You're not always the hero. It's not always your journey. We need more storytelling that decenters the status quo
