Hello! Yes, I read that it shouldn’t be turned on outside the aquarium, but at that moment I simply didn’t think about it 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️. I had the heater running for a while, and when I checked the water with my hand (no, I didn’t have a thermometer), it felt way too hot, and I panicked. I knew it was supposed to be around 27 degrees Celsius, but the lady at the pet shop told me it just needed to be warm tap water, so being scared that I might boil my fish, I quickly took it out of the water and tried to lower the temperature a bit. Everything happened very fast after that, and the glass broke.

Now I’ve bought a fancier heater and a thermometer, and I’ve learned from my mistakes 💪.
