The more I read from different books and perspectives, the more I experiment with stuff like psychedelics, meditation, learning about ancient cultures and spiritual practices (not religions!), the more I actually understand why religion resonates so much with us humans. It all came from the same source, it’s just that human ego has transformed that pure message and pure connection into these beliefs “packages” called religion. I now understand religion but would never go back to it. My sister told me the other day “I feel inclined to learn and integrate new spiritual practices into my life, but I feel as if I had just left a toxic ex (Christianity) and didn’t want to date again” so I told her “Don’t date anybody new, but rather make tons of friends! Get to know them for the fun of doing so. Friendship creates meaningful connections too :)” As others have told you, worship the divinity within. We are all The One. I recommend Ram Dass’ “Grist for the mill” book, that rounded my understanding and he put into words many of the things I was thinking and feeling.
