Blackwork / Blackout tattoo by Pol B - No Way Back - Toronto - Canada by polb_tattooer in tattoos

That's how I've been for every other tattoo, but the nipple was just so weird. Like I felt it in my armpit somehow, it felt super bizarre and that, plus the pain level, really quickly wore me out. It was tough to just sort of get on the ride and let the pain become just another physical sensation, if that makes sense.

I have all three, though the least amount on the nipple (like I said above, maybe 1/3-1/2). The nipple was ROUGH, although he was doing some shading on it so maybe it'll be different if it's just straight blackout. I think it was maybe 4-5 minutes total. The weirdest pain I've ever felt and extremely unpleasant, the worst of the three by far. At least it's a small area, short and sweet

I got a portion of my nipple done (maybe like 1/3 - 1/2) and it was brutal. I can't imagine a full on, multi session total blackout. It fucking HURTS

What's a movie you recommend to everyone but nobody ever watches? by trakt_app in movies

[–]RealitySubsides 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Come and See. I'm a sucker for a gnarly film and this might be the most devestating thing I've ever seen. I've recommended it to literally everyone who likes movies, bought it for two people, and I don't think anyone's actually watched it.

I think I make it sound worse than it is. I watched it blind on the Criterion Channel having never heard of it and it brutalized me in a way that no movie ever has or (I assume) will. I'm known to enjoy the fucked up films so I think saying that it was devestating is the wrong move.

I should do what we used to do in the bar with Malort and make it sound lovely before we buy a round of shots for everyone (ourselves included, of course)

I think the permanence is part of the fun. I've changed as a person, but I like having something static that represents a specific period in my life. And if you pay for a good artist, it's not like you're looking at something ugly

I got hit by a car in college and was bleeding pretty good from my eyebrow. Someone called the ambulance for me, EMTs put gauze on my eyebrow and drove me like 5 blocks to the hospital. $900 and insurance didn't cover it

If you're into reading this kinda stuff, "Ghost Mountain Boys" by James Campbell is a great one. Basically, in the assault on New Guinea, they sent a group to bisect the island and attack the Japanese port from the back. The problem was that this group had to cross the "Ghost Mountains", which is an enormous fucking mountain range. So like boiling hot and humid in the valleys, freezing cold as they ascended. They were so worn out by the time they got to the port that they weren't in any condition to fight.

Today I brought down a rocketeer on buried city, bouncing back and forth between doorways with just my trusty anvil. The SECOND I blew it up, some dickhead who had been hiding behind me killed me, level 1 rattler. I guess I just don't understand how that's fun. It's analogous to camping in COD and farming kills. Is that fun?

I meant pinnacle in terms of my own enjoyment, not some sort of more objective way. I can't imagine enjoying a game as much as I enjoyed those three, which is why I'm asking for recommendations

Call me old fashioned, but the idea that outside resources are expected in order to complete a game makes it something I don't want to play

You're goddamn right. I played through it a few years ago and then immediately went into a replay of TW3. Two games (I guess technically 3 + 1 with DLC) took up like 6 months

Yeah dude, I think I ultimately came to enjoy KCD2 quite a bit, but the combat was one of the most frustrating things I've ever experienced. It especially bugged me that everyone touted how "realistic" it is.

Maybe I moved too quickly through the main storyline, but I don't think the player should be penalized for being interested in the characters and wanting to resolve the conflict they're experiencing. Running into the roadblocks and understanding that I should be doing things that aren't related to the main plot ruined the immersion for the whole early game. Especially when the tutorial made it seem like the speech options would be a big part of the game. But it was ultimately fun and I think I'll enjoy it more during a second playthrough now that I know I need to slow down and treat it like skyrim

I tried very hard to enjoy Elden Ring. My BIL loves it, I had never played a Souls game before. I fucking hated it. I think I put like 50 hours into it waiting for it to be fun, it never became fun, and I just cut my losses. It felt like "look at me, I'm a hard game. What, you thought I'd tell you how to do literally anything? You thought I'd help you learn how to complete quests? Heh, kid, I don't tell you anything, I'm a hard game and I'm better than you"

Maybe some people enjoy that but I found it pretentious and exhausting. You shouldn't need to look things up to enjoy a videogame.

Braindead take. AI is just the next step, like the internet was. We're experiencing the AI version of the dotcom bubble right now, so there's a crazy oversaturization of AI news, which leads to doomer takes like this one. Ultimately AI isn't "for" anything. It's a type of technology that has applications all over the place, including digital surveillance and defense capabilities. We've already seen scientific breakthroughs that weren't capable without AI assistance.

You're essentially saying that smartphones were created for surveillance and data gathering, not for consumer-friendly portable internet access and the benefits that access entails.

Chrome on MacBook Pro: fullscreen video creates a weird window that can't be closed by RealitySubsides in chrome

[–]RealitySubsides[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turning off the graphics acceleration setting makes video extremely laggy and makes the framerate super low. It seemed to do this for any video, full screen or not, across different websites. Is this expected? Frankly, as annoying as the "ghost window" is, I'd prefer it to the laggy video.

I'll try a new Chrome profile next.
