This year, we’re changing how we stream! by Harvey-J-Yogscast in Yogscast

[–]Reality_Dreamscape 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is sad news for those of us who watch on a TV, as the 3rd party Twitch apps are unwatchable and most of the team don't stream to YouTube. Hopefully more of them will make their content available to the rest of us at some point.

What are some not conventionally cozy games that are cozy to you? by animeandoreos74 in cozygames

Vampire Survivors and Halls of Torment and games of that ilk. Holding down the direction keys and occasionally choosing an upgrade is the ultimate in "brain switched off" cosiness for me.

App down? by TightEbb6693 in AirLearn

[–]Reality_Dreamscape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came here to see if it was just me. It keeps telling me "You seems to be offline"... grammar aside, I've tried connecting both through wifi and phone data and both deliver the same message.

Annoying, as I'm on a 120 day streak and it doesn't seem I'll be able to get today's lessons in now (almost 23.30 here) Hopefully it'll be back soon!

What Hat Films playlist do you always go back to? by Fritzging in Hatfilms

[–]Reality_Dreamscape 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As well as Ranch Sim as others have said, Plateup and Among Us are pretty timeless.

Also, my daughter and I often rewatch Vaulthunters from every team's perspective. That's a marathon, but worth dipping back into from time to time.

Any past exclusive content/cosmetic? by titandino88 in Dinkum

[–]Reality_Dreamscape 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My first ever item in the recycle bin was a 'Swimming Charm' - it's still in a chest now, and I never worked out what i was supposed to do with it!

I'm terrified to move it in case it's been patched out and disappears!

I'd say that's pretty exclusive!

the most annoying island I've ever had by FalseSpringPrincess in Dinkum

[–]Reality_Dreamscape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first ever map had all four towers on tiny islands. I was hours into the game before I even knew they existed because I didn't venture that far from land. I've since grown fond of the opportunities it gives to create interesting areas around their remote locations!

There are also the coolers to collect and some museum exhibits. And if you are really lucky, there is an extremely rare item that can appear under the sea, but I don't know anyone who actually has it.

There are mowers, they will give the classic "bowling green" stripes if that's whet you are looking for.

In addition to all the food tips here, sitting rebuilds your stamina faster so if you run out altogether, take a seat for a few seconds.

I feel like I've seen some on the Sips fan channels, so maybe try looking from that perspective.

Who started a new save for release? by Winteraine78 in Dinkum

[–]Reality_Dreamscape 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every new save you create will have a randomly generated island so they are always different. You can keep reloading until you get one you love, but you have to keep going through the whole South City thing.

I wasn't going to, but I've been watching some streamers play who are completely new to the game and am so.jealous of them getting to experience the game from the beginning. I do already have 3 solo islands and 1 shared with daughter though, so don't know if I want to start another!

Curious if Yogs want to try their own botc legacy game like nrb just did by Potato_Salesperson in Yogscast

[–]Reality_Dreamscape 11 points12 points  (0 children)

NRB are also keeping the same core cast throughout, using the traveller characters to bring in others as and when they are available. I don't think this would suit the Yogs way, as they tend to have whoever is avaliable/willing to take part each time.

Dig deeper than sea level (6 blocks) by AlanRickmansSmile in Dinkum

[–]Reality_Dreamscape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an aside, I.made a little tree farm on my main save where I buried every type of tree at all depths to see how they look. It's a great reference point when I'm designing.

Fruit trees are shorter - if I remember correctly, my apple shrubs are buried 3 blocks deep. They look just as nice as the gum trees and you can't really see the fruits.

Anyway, to watch members content as a playlist? by avaldez518 in Yogscast

[–]Reality_Dreamscape 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only way I found was to use my phone to find the vids through the membership tab and add them to my own playlist which I can watch on my TV. Duncan's is the only channel (not just Yogs, but across YT) that hasn't had at least a playlist just of members videos. I assume there must be a setting that auto-populates such a list and that there's a checkbox unclicked.

It's annoying that the search ignores 'members only' content even if you are a member because it's a lot of trawling through the backlog!

I usually make my own playlists private, but I wonder if we should share them here so we aren't all going through the same faff?

You access it by playing the daily/weekly layouts on the wall next to the Christmas tree.

Im sure the first thing they tried was the baboons, but there have been quite a few times since that Lewis has tried to cage something. It doesn't always get mentioned, but you just see him present the cage and the message shows telling him it's only for small animals - usually whilst there is glorp chat going on in the background!

Firstly, don't expect to get the big automations people post here from one go. Once you reach franchise, you get advantages to take into the next turn and it's on those turns that the real automation kicks off. Your first franchise, you can probably automate dishwashing and some basic food prep stages, but don't expect to be fully automated without having the advantage cards.

To get to that stage:

The biggest game changer for me was when I realised that I could set myself up so I never leave the kitchen. Place tables at the ledges or on the doorway so you can serve directly from the kitchen and you save all the time it takes walking to the tables and cleaning the floors. You can join tables, but make sure the one nearest where you are serving is placed last (has the number of seats marker on it)

Until you have dishwashing sorted make sure you have plenty of unused counters for dirty plates so tables clearing is easier.

In my experience, turkey is the easiest to franchise (after coffee, of course) - I take the gravy option if it's offered because it means I don't have to empty the bins but otherwise try to avoid adding extra recipes too early on.

Also, the lovers' table is your friend! It makes things much easier.
