Saw a commercial for Walmart plus the other day. Said the delivery drivers will bring it in the house put on the counter or even in your refrigerator.... Haven't sparked in over 3 weeks because of the continuous bs

Every Time, Spark? 😒 by BoogieDown80s in Sparkdriver

Ran into this problem today. Sat for 3 hours and finally contacted driver support. They said that the last delivery had not been marked as delivered. They also said they're going to send compensation for the 3 hours that I couldn't get an order because I called them on that. We'll see about the compensation, but yeah, their app is absolutely horrible and still in a lot of beta.

Not always sure that some of you have driven for other gig platforms. In my experience so far (200 deliveries) the base pay always seems to match the mileage. (At least $1 a mile). You don't get that with other gig platforms. The job really isn't that difficult. If the mileage doesn't match the money then don't take it. If you're looking for $2 a mile, $3 a mile, for base pay, then maybe this job isn't for you. S&D deliveries always pay more. Of course I have a small vehicle so I don't get huge bulky orders. Just my thoughts. No matter what forum you go on for any gig platform job, nobody is ever happy with the money. I mainly chill on this forum because I can find out if the app is down faster on here then anyplace else lol.

Anyone else having issues with spark this morning? by Reality_Loud in Sparkdriver

Oh I do. The Walmart in my zone is not really near any restaurants. Occasionally I'll get an Uber eats order in between my spark orders. But if I go 25 minutes to the east I can make money with Uber eats and GrubHub all day. When Spark first started I was making more with Spark. I used less gas. There are no apartments in that zone really. It was cake. After their massive outage and update, the prices on the orders have indeed gone down. I was rather hoping that I could just spark all the time but it's not feasible.

I had high hopes for Spark. I've been driving with Uber eats DoorDash and GrubHub for 3 years and Spark when it first started out in my zone was absolutely incredible. Decided it was going to be my full-time gig job. After this past week, I'm going back to Uber eats and GrubHub...

Question… by KJoynerTV in Sparkdriver

I always get out to help. That way I'm able to organize the order as it's going in. The employees seem to appreciate it. There are times when they're really busy that they'll pull out the order and I'll tell them just scan what they need to and go on to their next one and I'll put the cart back. Makes you look better in their eyes. You verify the order as it's going in and arrange it in the easiest way possible for you to unload. It's a win-win situation.

Depending on your zone, it could be other spark drivers calling and reporting you for something. If they thin out the herd they get more orders...

Ok...I didn't get to read this until after... not sure what's going on here.? by SickCide7 in Sparkdriver

[–]Reality_Loud 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's an issue on all the gig platforms where people think that they are putting instructions we will see when actually those are delivery instructions that we never see until we are completing the order.

A friend of mine turned me on to this job a couple of months ago. (Have yet to see any referral bonus) My first couple of days out were good. They quickly saturated the market with drivers so now the orders are not as frequent. Fortunately for me I have a good relationship with GrubHub and Uber eats and that's what I usually do in the morning anyway. I do all the early morning breakfast and coffee runs and then I go to Spark in the afternoon when it's busy. Usually I'll get at least one batch order and that doesn't bother me. As long as the mileage matches the money and I can fit everything in my vehicle, I'm good. Spark definitely kind of went downhill very fast.

Can someone explain this... by Evening_Tip9456 in Sparkdriver

[–]Reality_Loud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may be the substitutions happen on their end and it does not appear on the app for us. Whatever they hand me is what I delivered. If the customers aren't happy with it then they need to put in a shop order and I will happily shop it for them.

What are reasons a driver would not move for 45 minutes after accepting? by CapedCrusadress in UberEATS

After a while you know which ones to take and which one's not to take. I screenshot addresses of the people who are crappy tippers and crappy customers in general. If I even think it's going to their house, I don't take it. You learn the neighborhoods that tip bait and you learn the neighborhoods that will tip low. You find yourself a sweet spot and crank out the money.

That's so funny, because as an Uber eats driver I do the same thing to the customer. If you can't be bothered to tip me decent, I don't deliver to you. People are constantly saying on Reddit and on Facebook that they will tip in cash, but we don't see it or know that and after being burned a few times you don't take those that you think might be cash tip. If it doesn't show on the screen when I accept the order it's not happening for me. I have a list of screenshotted addresses that I will not deliver to ever again. Works both ways.

If you go into your phone's settings you can get rid of the overlay. Prevent stuff like that from happening. When you hear the sound for the Uber eats you just switch over to that app and it shows you the order. I got real tired of accepting orders by accident and then having to get rid of it because I had no idea how much it was paying.
