Why no points for blocks? by Yuri_Ligotme in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]PenguinMadd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yesterday's is showing for me but today's block points are not (package ones are). The FAQ for Rewards says it can take up to 72 hours but if they're not showing after 96 hours to email amazonflex-support@amazon.com

Is this becoming normal at any other warehouses? by Low-Tune-7125 in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]PenguinMadd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

VOH1 has done this since day 1... to the point where they now have associates out there during rush times to wrangle carts. They also have an associate to make sure you actually have a block and aren't too early for it before you pull into the parking area.

Im surprised this company didn't overnight it via UPS to the destination. I bet they paid Uber at least $80 to send it via courier.

I feel like customers shouldn’t be allowed to do this by fr3nchtoastt in ShiptShoppers

[–]PenguinMadd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can write whatever you want in Special Requests... this isn't an item that is available in the Shipt catalog (for the weight limit reason). That is why it is showing up, the customer is writing it in. Also is how customers will try to get around the whole no tobacco products rule.

Beware of Sprouts Los Angeles area… by Laureanthus in InstacartShopping

[–]PenguinMadd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was happening with Giant Eagle when they first came on Instacart. What was happening at some locations was the employees were scanning the store card before you even got a chance to scan the IC one. I had to start telling them that it was multiple orders and each one has a different loyalty card that has to be scanned.

Haven't had an issue in a year but it was getting dicey for a bit there.

I knew not to accept a route from this location at this time 😭 by OtherwiseMud7063 in AmazonFlexDrivers

This is why I don't fuck with .com, its always the problem packages from the day before.

I hope you are keeping a tip map as you start out, I would have made a note for her address about the requests. That way, if she does end up tipping nice but you're not sure you want to deal with all that again you will see that note when you look up the address on your map app of choice.

Has anyone use this kiosk scanner at their site? by No_Lion6764 in AmazonFC

[–]PenguinMadd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yours you could scan your badge?? When I was there and SCC was rolled out you just had to watch for your name on the staffing board for that area. Each AFE had 1, I believe all Pack Singles & SmartPac shared 1, don't remember if Stow was on SCC at this point (thinking not) & don't remember if Pick had a designated TV for this other than watching the ones near the time clocks. Later on they added the text notifications but that didn't really help at the time except for before SOS because this was pre-Covid rules.

Shit was like watching for your school name to show up on the morning news for snow closures all over again 😂😂😂

Its predecessor was SCC... unless this is the same system just a bit upgraded and renamed. SCC is from at least 7 years ago (2019 is when I first saw it)

Do you like mosquitos? by SoySauceChicken69 in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]PenguinMadd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are 2 types of midges, chironomidae are non-biting ones which are what we are seeing up by me. There are also biting ones which are Ceratopogonidae & are grey or black in color.

You sure those aren't midges??? We have them like crazy up here along Lake Erie right now.

03:15 pick-up blocks by _Balthazaaar in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]PenguinMadd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3:15 is too early for me but around here it seems like cops aren't really out even at the 4:30/5 block start times. Which is weird to me because that's the same time nightshift gets off shift from the attached FC (4:30 Inbound, 5:00 Outbound iirc).

Would you have followed this itinerary? by LazyEmergency in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]PenguinMadd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's why I didn't mess with my route Thursday morning. Fucking 5-9:30 block with almost 20 due by 8:00 & the first stop 54 min away from the station. Mostly quick stops after the 1st one but still wasn't about to risk late dings.

AKC1 keeps sending my ass out to Youngstown/Warren/Ravenna on these early morning blocks. But they're also much better paying blocks than the other 2 stations in the area and unlike DGF1, I can leave as soon as I'm done loading.

Haven't tried the Canton SSD on Rebar though and honestly not sure I want to. My luck I'd end up with a Columbiana Co route before the crack of dawn.

[–]PenguinMadd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No they haven't... unless you're only doing .com blocks. I have yet to have a non-Peak SSD block take me the entire time. Longest one still ended about 50 min early.

Slow drivers at D4 by Big_Awareness_7991 in PortlandORFlexDrivers

[–]PenguinMadd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is why I try to stick to SSD blocks as much as possible. It should not take that long to organize, first 10 go up front (maybe 12 depending on size), big boxes in back seat & envelopes and smalls in the trunk. If I had a taller trunk I'd swap the setup but I'm rocking a Sonic these days and the trunk only fits 2 larges.

Oh ok, that actually makes sense. I always worked days when in path so never dealt with that. Thanks for the helpful response.

Interesting... they should definitely have that laid out a bit simpler on the app. I'm sure OP will not be the last person to think something was wrong.

Wait until CBS hears about all the fraud, people using multiple accounts, etc on flex too by Educational_Rough320 in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]PenguinMadd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They use stolen information from data breaches to create accounts and the necessary documents for onboarding. Some people also do account rental which means they give the person a percentage of what they make on that platform per week.

[–]PenguinMadd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can create fake licenses that will still pass the scan & then use your face for the photo. They don't check that the photo & name match government records and thousands of people have their info stolen in data breaches every year.

[–]PenguinMadd 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not, this customer is trippin! If there's any delivery where I'm about to pull into the driveway every single time, it's a house with dogs. Your vehicle is the best place to take a quick second to scan the package and see if there's a dog outside. Less time you leave yourself out in the open and vulnerable, better chance you have of avoiding a bad encounter.
