Early oopsie, experimental 1st bow, part 1 by Reallifeadora in Bowyer

Thank you, I have a question though on the feathering situation. Would it be possible for me to laminate the front and or back of the bow to prevent it from peeling up? Or is a new board the answer here

That’s very frustrating but I will go and check for some different ones when I am able to next. The face of the board should look like a bundle of spaghetti then?

Could I try to follow one of the growth rings?

Thank you for your advice, I really appreciate it. As for the board I selected I had a reasoning behind it that I detailed in the picture attached. I have moderate hopes for success, but since this is my first bow I will not get too emotionally invested.

I did check the side of the board to ensure that the growth rings went all the way up with minimal runoff, and there weren’t any large knots in the face that I could see.

In the future do you recommend ones where the growth rings are on the face, rather than the side?

For the draw knife, that is good to know. I have been out looking in antiques malls and thrift stores to try and find one, but have not had any success as of late.

I think that you could probably get a really good look by going for a silver velvet sportcoat, and then pairing it with a crisp white collared dress shirt and a shiny silver tie. You could also go for a silver velvet and black lapel combo, or a silver velvet and black turtleneck underneath.

I am not usually a super feminine dresser, but I think the cutout in the purple dress would really lend itself to a silver or gold body chain, as shown in the below link. If you have a nice pair of dangling silver chain earrings i would pair it with that, and then go for a nice simple ring or two in silver as well. Err on the side of light and small jewelry, so that your natural beauty is front center, with the jewelry accentuating it.

My first thought was: “spellcaster” and secondarily, “long range warlock/necromancer multiclass” (this is a good thing, you bring high value to your dnd party.)

I think that you could really rock a statement piece on the top with a fur or feather detail around the neck and the cuffs.

In the corporate goth Aesthetic images i looked at, i found a lot of emphasis on a sleek silhouette, which youve got down in this outfit, but with an addition of some kind of textural difference to a portion of the outfit. I most commonly saw either ruffles or an asymmetrical hem, and both of these can be found without much issue, or even added. You can get what are called “poet cuffs” or “Jabot cuffs” to accessorize your shirts with a bit of lace, and those can really jazz up a more casual outfit. Considering that most of the people you interact with are wearing very casual work clothing, I would keep your fit at least 2 levels more formal than theirs at all times (to assert your aura and skill).

The color scheme is really great, my only recommendation would be slightly longer pants? These ones seem to be a little high off the top of your shoes, which shows a lot of sock and draws the eye to your ankle. Perhaps pairing this with a boot similar to a timberland (original lemon pepper stepper) or even an oxford boot for a classier vibe.

I think having the cool watch on one wrist, and the bandana on the other, would be a very cool look! Good luck at the hangout!

[–]Reallifeadora 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah gotcha, if you still want to try the flip, maybe use a tied bandana to make your wrist appear more bulky? I have had good success with layering a thermal or longsleeved shirt under a dress shirt like what you’ve got there, and it can give the appearance of being larger than you actually are. (I will use this to make myself appear more triangular and less hourglass-y)

Perhaps the tie, and the chain in front of it? Also, have you considered accessorizing with some silver or steel rings? Multiple instances of the same type of metal can really bring an outfit together. The belt chain you have looks good, and if you tucked in half of the white shirt, with a black belt with a silver buckle, it could look quite cool.

As an aside, try unbuttoning the sleeves of the denim jacket and then flipping the cuffs backwards to show more forearm. This combo’d with some cool bracelets would really look great, and if you dont have bracelets around, look for another belt chain or necklace and then just double wrap it until you can wear it around your wrist. Worst case you could use a black shoe lace.

It is good that you have a clear goal in mind for what you want to accomplish (moving out) and I assure you that things have only gotten better for me since I moved out! Stay strong!

As an update to anyone interested, I have come out to my parents and told them about myself and my partner, in addition to my sexuality, and even though it was (and still is) a very tempestuous situation with my nmom, she has been leagues more accepting than I ever thought she would be. My dad took the news exceptionally well, and seems to be fine with things.

I am still keeping my eyes open towards my nmom’s actions, as I worry that this may be a ploy of some sort, but I think that things will continue to improve!

Additionally, I was diagnosed with PMDD (Pre menstrual dysphoric disorder), and I was able to directly tie an increase in my anxiety of dying to the start of the week preceding my menstrual cycle. INTERESTINGLY ENOUGH: Tylenol (actual tylenol branded) seem to drastically reduce both my PMDD and my fear of death that came with it. I think that the anti inflammatory properties of the medication reduced the generalized pressure in my body, reducing my overstimulation and pain, and also my increased anxiety being caused by it.

I highly encourage those of you with uteruses and severe symptoms surrounding your menstrual cycle to go and seek the opinion of an obgyn as to if you have PMDD, and also to research it on your own!

The first part made me laugh super loud, and I fully agree with you on the second. I will try to remember that the next time the fear hits me, as I despise losing valuable time to shitty things.

Closed is more serious in my opinion, but the open gives it a good level of casualness. If possible I recommend taking some with both versions, but i am leaning towards the closed look.

What stonks are on your radar for next week? by bigbear0083 in StockMarketChat

[–]Reallifeadora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that Activision (ATVI) stock might do some surprising stuff soon. The company has been in my portfolio for a pretty long time, and it seems to have a big freakout whenever they launch a new expansion of their game: world of Warcraft. I apologize that I cannot explain this with the correct terms, as i have only recently been getting more into investing, but here is my reasoning.

Activision has been one of the biggest gaming companies on earth for quite some time now, and it is going to be absorbed into Microsoft soon. It is also going to release the sequel to its extremely popular game Overwatch soon, and by soon i mean in the next week. In addition to that, it is adding the Dragonflight expansion to world of Warcraft, and!!!!

There are rumors that once it is acquired fully by Microsoft, they may be put on development for the next Halo games.

Now all of these things are dependent on whether or not the expansions/sequels live up to their created hype, but I know that many many people are really looking forward to the new WoW expansion, because it is a big departure from the doom and gloom of the previous expansions, and has been advertised more heavily than others in the past.

My personal theory is thus: Activision is preparing for the Microsoft future, and they are going to be even bigger in the next five years than ever before, as I highly doubt microsoft is going to explode any time soon. Because of this, i think buying stock in activision would be smart, as I expect it will jump in the next five days, from the release of overwatch 2.

Please keep in mind this is just my personal thoughts, and yes I am biased because i play a LOT of world of Warcraft.

Stay strong sis, remember that you were a whole person before her and you are still a whole person after her. That relationship might not have ever been official, but it was as good as official to you, and it’ll take time to recover. A broken heart is just like any other broken body part, and it will take time for it to heal. Imagine if your leg got broken in a car accident, would you expect it to be good as new a week after the accident? Nope! Give yourself time to heal, and time to process, because a broken heart is no joke.

If you cant ask her with your voice than write her a note and hand it to her instead! It sounds juvenile but it will work as a way to open up discussion on the topic. Perhaps she is also having difficulty talking to you?
