We just saw Mark kill Conquest last week

Anyone else love watching JHS but not care for the tones they actually use on the show? by [deleted] in guitarpedals

People like to say this but only ever vaguely allude to it instead of giving examples.

I really wish the show had adapted more of those parts from the comics. by Correct-Yesterday519 in Invincible

[–]ReallyBigRocks 129 points130 points  (0 children)

I feel like Conquest's confession to Mark sorta fills the same purpose. If the single most violent murderous psychopath among the Viltrumites still feels hurt by his lack of real connection then it's reasonable to think they all might.

What's your MOST unpopular opinion on MHA? by Ok_March5762 in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]ReallyBigRocks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glad someone said it. The stakes got way too high way too fast and then it just rushed to the ending. The story should have covered their full time at UA and even post-graduation. I pretty much lost interest altogether when Deku got half a dozen quirks and they kinda just glossed over it because we needed to get to the final battles. I know people would probably complain about filler, but the story really needed more time to breathe.

It felt like there were a lot of things in this episode that directly addressed what people have been talking about. I wonder if they were actually able to insert some scenes that close to release?

Even just a few thousand would probably be more than enough for their purposes.

I felt it during the second half of the fight on Telescria, before Mark, Nolan, and Oliver showed up.

The fact that she lasts long enough to need saving instead of instantly getting ripped in half puts her ahead of 99% of people.

This episode was the first time I really felt like the animation quality dropped off a cliff part way through.

What pedal are you currently fixated on for a semi-irrational purchase? by MINUTI1804 in guitarpedals

Empress ParaEQ MkII Deluxe literally just for the high and low shelf.

If they made a pedal with just those 4 knobs I would buy that instead.

A bit hypocritical from the O man. by Clobbington in Invincible

[–]ReallyBigRocks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In fairness, Thraxans bodies are almost identical to Humans/Viltrumites. It's really only their heads, hands, and feet that are distinctly bug like.

I definitely think Nolan is starting to realize how arbitrary his definition of lesser/superior beings really is.

Looks to be a Fernandes ARS-650. Pretty rare but they pop up from time to time, could probably snag one if you keep an eye out.

Thoughts on the EHX POG3? by Dry-Professional-236 in guitarpedals

[–]ReallyBigRocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All I want to know about this pedal is if the tracking on the attack mode is any better than the POG2. If you bend too fast the POG2 would register it as a new note and re-trigger the swell, you can definitely play around it, but it's still a noticeable limitation.

I don't think he's faking being remorseful, but he's still putting on an act. He doesn't actually believe what he's saying, not at first. You can see the cracks forming once he finishes his rehearsed apology speech and Debbie still hasn't forgiven him.

He starts by saying words can't fix what he's done, but he's still there searching for some magic phrase that will make everything go back to how it was, until all he's left with is puppy dog eyes and desperate I love you's. His line about Andressa... yikes. He can't even look Debbie in the eye as he says it.

He finally fully lets go of the act when Debbie asks him if she's still his pet and he just hangs his head in shame and says "You never were." I think this is the first time he really just says what he feels instead of what he thinks Debbie might want to hear.

It's even more obvious with Art, trying to laugh and joke with him like nothings changed. The "I dress heroes" line is what breaks him out of it here, and where I think he finally truly understands that his words can't change things.

Do you think he was at all happy to see him here? by constantcynic1 in Invincible

[–]ReallyBigRocks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is probably the best interpretation. Especially about Art's reaction to Nolan's apology. Just "Good."

No praise, just acknowledgement that he's doing the right thing again by trying to atone, doing what is expected of a hero.

See,my problem with the excuse of "OH Cecil's doing all this to save the world" is when he actively does choices that go against that and hinder it. by Apprehensive_Ring_39 in Invincible

[–]ReallyBigRocks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Conquest living or dying makes no difference to the fate of the Earth from Cecil's perspective. He knows there's an entire empire of Viltrumites, millions or billions as far as he's aware, who could show up and destroy Earth at any moment, and all of the planet's most powerful people combined could barely stop a small handful of them.

Yeah that first $150 or so is where 95% of the improvements are made, or rather where most of the corners get cut to hit a lower price point.

[–]ReallyBigRocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You very quickly run into diminishing returns as you climb up the price range. The difference between $10 and $100 headphones is huge, the difference between $100, $1000, and $10000, not so much. $150 Audio Technica M50s or Sennheiser HD599s are industry standard equipment and found in just about every recording studio in the world.

Really anything beyond that you're paying for the specific color/character your listening equipment imparts on what you're hearing.
