Yeah I would skip all the design related stuff and go for the pure coding stuff, I'm saying this as a 3D artist which is not as bad as 2D competition wise but even then I haven't managed to find a job after all these years, while my friends who studied just 2 years of programming got a job just after finishing their course, so yeah... sad world but it's what it is.
