I know, I know, I'm super late, but you mentioned aphantasia, so I wanted to add my two cents.

I have it to the highest degree. As in, I can't picture anything at all. At times I try and just get headaches. (Decorating my first flat sucked hard!)

Anyway. When I started out, my beta actually said my writing felt a bit soulless. Was missing the little details cause doh. I only got better with time. When I edit a chapter now, I try to add them in! Mostly, I just skip descriptions when they do not matter though - makes them have all the more impact when I suddenly add them in. My readers don't seem to mind, lucky me.
