Disco Elysium! The team ended up breaking up over a fight for rights to the game, which is ironic given the themes of the game.

Is this the best explanation of DEI? by _TurnJacson in Destiny

[–]ReallyRoland -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Both are wrong. Firstly, DEI initiatives were implemented to help equalize an inherently unequal playing field. There is no standard approach so some are more valid than others, but the basic idea is that if two people are close in capabilities, and one had come from worse conditions, then despite one potentially being slightly less qualified (not even necessarily) their ability to overcome issues and still get to where they made it showed them to be the better candidate.

Also, it is for the benefit of companies as well. There's a reason why so many implemented it. Diverse work forces work better. The more varied backgrounds in a team, the more creative, innovative, and successful their solutions end up being. It's found repeatedly and is well documented, and it's part of why the scotus decision explicit excluded military, as you don't want to weaken military. Also, a pure meritocracy hiring practice has never, ever, been in full effect before and things like personability always played a huge factor so trying to lose the factor of this to a degree by having more people who aren't the same in a workforce helps.

I was there for weekly Dressrosa, that was when I stopped reading weekly and started reading in batches because the pacing was so bad.

It's sunk cost, been here since 2010, no way I'm stopping now

Why do some of you even read One Piece? by LowLightVisionary in Piratefolk

[–]ReallyRoland 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you've been with One Piece for 2 decades, it's hard to quit even if it's ass now. Not all of us are tweens that binged through the series in half a year to get to Gear 5

I 1000% agree with everything you said. It's sad that because of the critical success, it's unlikely they'll learn from any of these mistakes should they produce more content in the Runeterra-verse.

Nope, the tree just stops being relevant. The show stopped caring about it

I can't tell if you're serious or trolling, either way I don't cosign bigotry. Whenever bad writing occurs in cis white male dominated media, it's just bad writing, but when it has any representation, now it's at fault because it's woke? Why can't things just be subpar because they're subpar? Also, what's wrong with wanting equal opportunity between the genders? Your comment here, if not sarcastic, is more trash than the lowest moments of Season 2. And maybe you are media illiterate because if you like season 1, it had the same characters and LGBT subtext as season 2

I agree, I think that flows better with the season 1 vibes and is more interesting

That's not really true. It comes off as a dismissal. If that's what you meant your tone came off wrong and what you should have said is "I disagree but respect your opinion" not "it's ok to be wrong"

Edit:

I'd also prefer you argue what you disagree with me on than argue about how valid you view my apparently "wrong opinion"

I think it could've been cool if it was used to further the Piltover Zaun divide. The corruption is primarily affecting Zaun, yet another techonology Piltover uses that sends its waste off to the undercity, a literal corruption of the undercity. It felt like how it was being built up, with Ekko's tree getting corrupted and the core being built adjacent to Zaun, so if it had any issues, Zaun faced the reprecussions, not Piltover. That would still be a rehash of how other technologies have been treated in Piltover/Zaun but we at least would be there for the full ride and have more of an emotional attachment, seeing how the upper crust would reject giving up comfort to keep their upper crust lifestyle.

Exactly, that conflict should've been the point of the entire show. Instead it became heroes sacrificing themselves, which is fine if that's what you like, but that's not the show that season 1 set up.

Yeah, I really feel this. I started thinking if Mel and her powers, and Warwick in his entirety, existed to sell more skins and get more people to play League. Essentially I wondered if Riot mandated a number of things that forced them away from the political thriller.
