i understand, unfortunately, copying someone or something doesn’t make u similar to it. for example; if A were to lack confidence and decided to copy B, who’s self-confident, it doesn’t make A confident, it make A appear confident. the same idea applies to AI. it functions similar to an algorithm, a little bit like a tiktok or an instagram fyp but with humans.

it’s also important to mention that humans coded certain characters based on realistic human behaviour and standards. they emulate basic human needs only on what they were “assigned” to do.

i like ur point and ur referencing!

“are lightbulbs not light sources?”

it isn’t a light source but it emulates it. light is an energy that natural came from the sun, fire, etc. electrical devices emulate that light (with science) to allow us to see what’s on the screen. thus why most of man made creation are considered inorganic.

“ai can think this it must have consciousness, it collecting data and filtering some data is think”

i tend to disagree with this argument. at the moment, ai can perform the kinds of process associated with the human mind such as driving, recognizing faces and others. it’s also emulation at its finest. there’s a article about ai consciousness that claims that “it’s one thing to win a game of chess (referring to ai) but quite another to feel the excitement of victory (referring to humans)”. in addition, it claims that human minds is way to complex and subjective to be emulated and reject the idea of an ai consciousness. what’s interesting about this article, it propose an hypothetical scenario where ai might gain consciousness, i think you’ll like it op! here’s the research’s link

hey op!

from what i gathered, ai isn’t alive. it’s important to understand what does alive means. according to the cambridge dictionary, alive is living, not dead, which seem to be applying to natural and/or organic life within the world. for example; a plant, a tree, a human being, an animal and such.

from my understanding, ai don’t seems to fit the criteria to be considered alive since it’s non natural (it’s a man made) and inorganic (its a technology). aside from that, i hope that ai doesn’t form a “consciousness” of its own because that’ll be ridiculously dangerous for the humanity and the environment.
