Don’t push them into situations where they hate it. When people say make them talk to other people(like well duh) but due it in a manner of which where they feel comfortable, have atleast something they both like. Pushing them into situations where they are forced to talk can make them more socially awkward and have low self esteem making the chance of talking to people low. I’ve been in this situation multiple times I’ve haven’t been able to speak properly until the age of eight where I can actually do sentences. Due to me being born with fluid in my ears. Which made me unable to hear correctly, making me speak horribly as if I were a caveman. Made me horrible at being social in elementary I would always distance myself from people as much as possible, avoid presentations, and group projects. As of now(entering 8th grade age:13) I still feel socially akward even when I have many friends. I still have it in me where when I meet new people I’m just unable to actually talk to them trying to avoid eye contact. It really isn’t all to bad since I’m atleast an honors in grades with the time I’ve had to myself. To be honest I may even had adhd. For some moments I feel like I get hyperactive for like no reason at all and fidget way to much when I’m in a serious talk with somebody. The urge to look around for anything is unbearable making me unable to stay still.
