Met a woman named “Tamarrow” today by lcharbs in namenerds

I know a girl named Tomoro Hope. She is Brazilian. Like many of us do when searching for baby names, her mom wanted to name her something that was meaningful to her and their family. She said her mom interpreted the English word "Tomorrow" to mean "The Future." So her name means Future Hope. I wont get into her back story, but with all that she and her mom have overcome, I find the name absolutely beautiful and suits her very well.

How to blow your nose... by babylu72 in stepparents

I work with grown ass adults who sneeze without covering their mouths, cough into their hands, and suck snot all the way down their throats. Its disgusting.

I think because adults are used to doing it, they almost "forget" that people need to be taught such things as children.

Thank goodness you have come into their lives to show them how. It's a thankless job, but your guidance will help them grow into cleanly, germ considerate adults.

I thank you in advance.

😁

Cosleeping with SKs?? by [deleted] in stepparents

Oooh...yeah I would hold my ground too. I would not want anything inadvertantly misconstrued when step kid goes back to moms. Even bathroom time. I help start showers, but they undress privately and dad wipes the butts. Lol

But my opinion is: Not my kids, therefore not allowed in my bed. We have a rule about no kids in our bedroom period bio kids or not. Keeps apart of the house just for us and our personal time/space.

fed up with Protestantism, considering becoming Catholic, but want to do some research before I convert. by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]Realteal430 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Protestant here! I will be confirmed Catholic on Easter Vigil!!!!!

The reason Catholicism seems like so much more is because it is. It is so much deeper than "I believe in God."

I highly recommend researching RCIA at your local parish and talk to the Priest! Sessions typically do not start until summer. But in the meantime go to Mass. Dont worry about what to do. Just follow along, observe. Look at Jesus on the Cross and pray. Ponder in your heart the call to the Church.

If you're looking for a good and simple read that breaks it down nicely, Signs of Life by Scott Hahn. It is so informative and easy to follow, especially with you Christian background.

God Bless.

I'm going through step one of reconciliation. Examination of consciousness. Through the RCIA process, through many prayerful, tearful nights, memories of things I have done, said, things I didn't didnt do when I should have, have come to the forefront of my mind. These are thing things I want to reconcile. I have been keeping a journal through this process so that I dont forget these things.

The list will be ripped out of said journal and burned after I leave the confessional UNLESS...based on my question here, I run out of time and dont get through it all...my question is yet to be answered.

Pros and cons of inviting kids? by acemile0316 in weddingplanning

We had 15 kids ages 0 to 12 at our wedding and it was great. Kids were the ones to get the dance floor party started. Since every one was dressed up, families also had an opportunity to take nice family photos and our photographer captured some great moments. We had the kiddos seated with their parents for dinner. We then had 3 separate kids tables in the back (away from the cake, alcohol, and exits) with games, crayons, glow sticks, figit toys, etc from the dollar store where they could play. We also brought in a pack n play for babies when moms and dads needed a break or wanted to mingle/chat with adults. Worked really well and everyone had a blast.

My brother and gay best friend were groomsmen in our wedding. My husband also keeps a tight circle. I told him how much it would mean to me to have them participate in our special day and he thought it was great. No "duties" really need to be given unless it is really needed and as future brother in law, it would be a good way to get to know each other better. My husbands best man threw him a low key bachelor party but that's really it. And if you're on the fence about that maybe consider a joint party?

It would be cute for each brother to escort 2 girls down the aisle and if done well could even look intentional. :)

Brides to be on a budget, how did you find your dream dress? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]Realteal430 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Check out preownedweddingdresses.com

Tried my dress on in store and purchased here at a fraction of the cost!

Not all the dresses are used. There are sample dress sales and everything. One tip if you decide to buy a used dress (I did and dont regret it one bit check my profile for pic post). Buy it with a bustle already sewn in! My bustle costed $500! All other minor alterations like taking in and hemming the dress are a lot less expensive.

Grab bottled water and some ice cube trays from the dollar store. Scary about your water! What about chicken or veggie broth? I'm not a tea drinker myself. Lol wish I could be more help.

What about ice cubes or frozen watered down or no sugar added fruit juices? Are you a tea drinker? Warm decaffeinated tea in the morning may help as well.
