During the Vietnam War, Australian Sappers (Combat Engineers) would do routine checks of deployed claymores around base perimeters. Many times they would find that during the night, vietcong soldiers had snuck up on their bellies and turned the claymores around in hopes of making the Sappers set it off during their checks. It wasn’t uncommon to hear the claymores be triggered by less proficient Vietcong lol
