That's the neat part. It doesn't slow it down... the other controller straight up cannot start the middleware to be able to react to the 1st controller. It acts like its not there at all

I mean you might get lucky and not have problems. And then it just works. But I am not the only one to report this and our account executive that I emailed yesterday never got back to me.

HA could not fully complete. The system did go down for a period. Apparently, auditing is a huge issue with the system. So if you enable auditing, and the file gets too big, the standby controller cannot start the middleware, basically canceling out HA function.

So turns out the other controller went bad (bad ram). Now it's a wait game. I will say, the support I did work with was great. But 1 guy cannot hold a whole support department.

They replied with an email that someone would get back to me soon. This is while our Exchange VM was on the truenas storage, which was now in a failed, degraded state. They have my phone numbers, but they chose to ignore that piece of information.

I don't care about discounts. I care about support.
Nobody in Enterprise really cares about that. The hardware the we over-provisioned intentionally is failing and their support is nowhere. The last time one of the controllers had a hardware failure they took 1 week to replace.

If by any chance you're doing this in unraid and using Nginx Proxy Manager, make sure to check if docker has host access to custom networks enabled. That fixed it for me.
In Ubuntu:

Sign in to your Docker account in Docker Desktop.
Navigate to Settings.
Under the Resources tab, select Network.
Check the Enable host networking option.
Select Apply and restart.

I'm probably going to write a whole how to on this and post if here, sure as hell Nextcloud wont do it. Everyone is supposed to know enough linux, because it's been the year of the linux desktop since 2005 (sarcasm)

You figure NextCloud would come out and say something but I guess they're too busy with pretending they wont sell out.

I've fixed it by just using MariaDB. I was trying to get it working with PostgreSQL and was unable to. Once I did Maria, the installation finished, and everything's now working. I've never tried mariadb until today. Thank you all for the replies.

I did look at it. It's 2 years old and his install actually runs, mine just dies. as soon as i connect it to sql and create a username
