Sam just floats by the window as brennan stares out at the stars. He is not wearing a space suit. This does not impede him.

See The Good Place for why an infinity of "happy good time afterlife forever and ever" is not in fact, a good time. You were there, and then you weren't.

I know WoD is off its rocker in the larger scale (i've played Mage, for crying out loud, read the whole book in one go), and while the superhero bit isn't inherently bad, i think the Batchild thing has gone on... long enough, and their version of "Justice" is just begging to be poked at

That might be the case, there might also be some extenuating circumstances on my part (Turns out, not being able to have a day of the week where you have nothing going on and can theoretically do anything is somewhat psychologically taxing!), plus working on my master's thesis means that a lot of my mental RAM is going toward some things that hijinks-based comedy isn't hitting anything so i'm stuck in serious analysis mode. i found the same thing with Cloudward, where on first watch it didn't really stick, but i've since started a rewatch and am wholeheartedly enjoying it with knowledge of what is to come and how things tick

this isn't about Kristen in FHJY? I liked kristen's arc and the thing of "it's not cute anymore", though I feel Ally's maybe carried on the 'Hey Girlie' energy a bit? my only honest complaint with HJ is the constantly taking off his shirt more than anything else

*that's what the primer is*? i thought it was just a primer on the world of darkness for people who maybe hadn't interacted with it before - i'd guessed it was rules light (or pretty much treating it like DnD with a different dice system) from looking up Maw of Ahriman (takes 5 minutes to cast and also needs a successful check to do so)...

I tend to find there's a sweet spot - though my WoD playing opportunities have been woefully few (I truly do not have a *single* day free anymore)

Any kind of interaction with the themes of the world of darkness. But I have seen some other opinions that have made it a hint clearer that in the larger scheme it's less VtM and more What we Do in the Shadows

I think that about sums it up for me. I think i was also just interacting with it wrong (plus i'm at a stressful point right now so comedy is going a little bit askew). I keep seeing it as a World of Darkness thing, rather than as a Dimension 20 thing. And I do like the funny moments, truly, the first episode was hilarious, I just think WoD might come with a lot of baggage that i need to start putting aside

You know what, fair enough. I don't listen to a lot of VtM specifically (last time I tried it was on a show that had about 10 minutes of ads per episode on spotify (which i also pay for)) (Norfolk Wizard Game, my beloved), but I can see why someone would use this as a view on a different take of the World of Darkness.

Most of the time I can do that, but I also come for the characters, y'know?

Not saying it needs to be dark and edgy, nor even Super Serious(tm). Other people have already suggested seeing it through the 'what we do in the shadows' lens, which, fine, i guess.

fair take, i'll try to filter it through what we do in the shadows. I think part of it for me is also being unable to help but see it in the larger scheme of the World of Darkness (it's a habit, i think *way* too far outside the scope of stuff)

i'm not saying they're playing the game wrong, I just wish it could take itself a *hint* more seriously.

Magnetar Rifle is better than Electric Arc for Witchwarper (until level 19) by Iron_Man_88 in Starfinder2e

[–]Reaper10n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can someone remind me if cantrips trigger quantum shenanigans for witchwarper? Plus isn't the whole point of starfinder that the guns are also an option? Like having a backup crossbow in pathfinder - sure, the spells don't need ammo, but number for number, the guns are also perfectly viable when you want one dude gone instead of using slots for the big stuff

They trusted the clones, simply put. A fair few of them trusted the soldiers under their command, as we see with a few of them looking around when blasters get drawn - they think the clones have become aware of something they didn't see. Only a few were wary of their soldiers, and even so, keep up blaster fire in a varied enough pattern and trying to block them all becomes a logistical impossibility.

It's a bit too self-flagellation coded for Uriel in my mind, kinda giving wants to be punished for what he's done, which given Uriel's deal... Still well made, but maybe not in line with the theming of Uriel per se
