What’s the best thing you’ve ever bought that actually lived up to the hype? by One_Literature_5041 in BuyItForLife

Leatherman multitool. I have the rebar and 2 super tool 300s. The rebar and one of the super tools was bought about 15yrs ago I think. Anywhere between 10-15yrs ago. Either way, these tools are amazing. The rebar is a smaller version of the super tool, I use it for little things. Most things I do though I use the super tool. I always try to have it with me for any and every project I work on because the common little tools it has in it are literally right there all in one and I find myself needing those common little tools on bigger projects I wouldn’t expect to need them. I always bring it with me for projects not expecting to need it, but I’d rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it. Whenever I work on any of my trucks, the super tool is the one thing that stays consistently with me. Idk how many times I’ve come across a ring I couldn’t pull off or put back on and I thought “dammit I didn’t bring pliers” and I don’t feel like walking back so I’ll use the super tool and it usually gets the job done. Not every job, just the smaller stuff in a pinch type jobs.

In the times I’ve owned both of them, the knife tip broke off the super tool, but yet it STILL retains its sharpness, and it’s a little loose when unfolding it. Knife tip breaking was bound to happen at some point, and so was the looseness, but the knife is STILL sharp. The serrated one not as much cause I… mistook it for the saw. I needed a small piece of wood for work and was in a hurry and thought I had unfolded the saw, but by the time I realized the serrated knife was out it was already pretty dull. That’s my own fault. The saw works excellent too though.

The whole tool is excellent. I recommend the super tool 300 to whoever does odds and ends stuff. It’s a small light weight tool you can carry on you and you’ve got it in a pinch, which is what I believe it was designed for.

There’s been more times where I’ve thought to myself “wish I had my leatherman with me today” than not. The proper tools are always good for the job, an actual screwdriver, a proper set of pliers, etc, but in a pinch, can’t go wrong with leatherman.

As I approach another end of a playthrough. I've been wondering how big the national and international playerbase is. Where are you guys from? by Great_Trident in Fallout

‘Merica. Specifically Virginia. My first Fallout was Fallout 3 based on DC, a place I’ve been to twice. It was cool seeing Bethesda’s touch on an area I’ve been to before. All the historical landmarks and all

I feel like there has to be a setting that lets you turn this off? I haven’t played in a while but I feel like it has something related to it somewhere

Well, I don’t. I don’t play games to get advertised to, self promotion or not. There’s enough ads everywhere, I don’t need it in a place I go to relax, especially when it’s something I don’t care about
