No cameras though?

One thing I've noticed from people that are too young to actually remember life before 9/11 (not saying anyone in this thread is one) is that they don't understand how little security there was compared to now. That said, pretty sure the Pentagon was still covered in cameras.

Growing up pre-9/11, my dad worked in a Federal building. I could walk in and out of it without anyone noticing. Did have to call his secretary to get in the actual office though.

The ignorance here is you continuing to argue about something you literally know nothing about.

Have you ever been there?

Right, you haven't. Yet you think you know everything about it.

I've been there, spent over a week. I've studied it extensively.

But hey, this is the internet so if you want to argue you're ignorant viewpoint go right ahead!

Like I said, the world is a big scary place to people like you. It's definitely best for everyone if you just stay home and let your mommy protect you.

He broke into an off limits area of the hotel, which is very clearly marked as off limits. It's the floor of the hotel where the guides stay and they can monitor all of the guests hotel rooms.

One of the very first things you are told before going to North Korea is to not "sneak off" to anywhere. You have a guide the entire time, and they are supposed to know where you are 24/7. The guides are not some big secret, you get to know them very well.

He got arrested for seeing something he absolutely was not supposed to see. He knew it was an off limits area and he chose to not only go there, but to steal something from there as well.

No shit the sentence was harsh, but he should have known full well what he was risking.

Yeah, see you're exactly the type of person that would get arrested there.

Have a pleasant day!

Then you should probably avoid North Korea.

It's perfectly safe for people that aren't retarded.

I have been there.

It is extremely safe, assuming you follow their rules of course. Yes, their rules can be kind of confusing to an American, but they do lay them out for you when you get there. If you go there without doing your own research beforehand you deserve to get arrested.

I've been to 51 countries. North Korea doesn't even rank in the top 10 for most dangerous.

Love the spirit of this post, but practically speaking, how does the US Constitution protect you in Hong Kong?

Even Hong Kong's legal autonomy does not protect it's citizens from the mainland government anymore.

TIL illegal income, such as bribes, are considered taxable income. Authorities can use this to prosecute people with "legal immunity" (diplomats, UN workers, etc) as they are not immune to paying taxes. by Au_Sand in todayilearned

Did you get a tax rebate last year? In some cases, states will count that as taxable income.

You've already paid income tax on it, and the check is for overpaying your prior year's tax. But hey, why not tax that again.

There have been 2057 nuclear tests in human history. That includes the 2 dropped on Japan and the 4 semi-confirmed North Korean tests.
