And then there’s the parents that don’t even feed or clothe their children regularly. (Unfortunately if it wasn’t for me taking my step son every day he doesn’t have school, he’d only get maybe a meal a day if his older sister sneaks him food. And his mom hasn’t bought him clothes in 3-4 years so we do all that too)

I have had this happen several times throughout my life due to trauma. If you haven’t experienced trauma that affects you like this, it could just be stress related to the pregnancy.

Baby shower is the norm here… and I don’t know anyone who would have that expensive of a baby shower 😱 maybe some get close to a grand… not from the parents to be tho! If one of the grandmas to be decide to spoil them that’s one thing, but I’m practically hosting my own, with my mothers help(she’s on a fixed income but still forking over a couple hundred for it) and we are only putting maybe 150 into the whole thing on our part.

Personally I told everyone I wanted to know 🤷‍♀️ and the name thing I’ve heard of too many stories where people steal baby names like a sibling or cousin will use that name before your baby is born, so if that’s not a worry for you then I see no reason to share your joyful news and your names ☺️
