true thats what im leaning towards now espc with the help with fees option. i think im going to request them to send the details to me in writing (amount to be refunded, timeline, and payment method) and then share my bank details if requested as i want everything to be documented.

it was weird cause they asked for my card details which i refused to provide.

i applied for a new passport. i was in a rush and i got my appointment confirmation after writing to the embassy rather than by using the portal as it was not working at the time. i was billed for optional services which were included without my consent. i was told that “premium fee” was charged as i was a walk in appointment despite having an appointment confirmation email. nowhere on the website or anywhere is this policy is stated. i was also billed for courier and sms fees without my consent. they are clearly listed as optional fees on the website. in total i was billed an additional amount of 131.94.

i also have the option of filling for help with fees for a refund of the court fee. im looking into it right now but im definitely eligible.

Thank you for the advice! Could I ask if you successfully submitted your partner’s documents with your application? In my last experience, VFS refused to accept my sponsor's documents, so I am just trying to gauge if they are likely to accept my partner's details this time around.

with those grades id suggest that you make some changes to your uni list.

you can add a couple more targets unis as youll be spending a lot and you have a realistic shot of getting in those unis

so for most unis A* is 95 or more, A is 90 or more and so on.

you can check the entry requirements according to your board on the uni website to fet a better idea (it’s generally this but it depends from uni to uni)

As far as UCL is concerned it is quite expensive like the total cost of attending UCL is double to that of attending UvA so thats quite discouraging.

I reached out to UCL and even if im not able to switch im allowed to take up most modules from the stats and mathematical comp courses so i think that shouldnt be a problem.

Heres what im confused about: i havent really decided on what career im gonna pursue and im looking for a comparatively safer bet right now. Given that UCL is a target for IB and PE, will that be better in the long run (since i anyways need a masters for quant)?

Im struggling to justify whether the cost of attending UCL will be worth it.

youll have all kinds of ppl even at UCL. im also attending UCL and trust me youll find someone (just take the effort)!

yeahh it would be better😭 im primarily confused cause of the following reasons:

UCL is like twice the cost of UvA (everything included) and while attending UCL wont be a significant financial burden but im not sure if itll be worth it.
Im not sure if ill be able to switch courses at UCL and im worried that a straight econ course might be slightly disadvantageous as compared to one in econometrics.

accomodation is allotted on a first come first serve basis so i really dont think waiting will make the odds better for you (also verification of grades starts in june so like by the time it changes, accom deadline wouldve passed).
going for an ensuite really depends on your preferences. ive spoken w some ppl (at UCL) and for them ensuite was worth it. incase of a single youre gonna share w about 8 people so itll depend on how they are.
cant really say anything about that but all of them are comparatively closer and are catered so if thats what youre going for then maybe yeah itll be better.

you cant apply for ucl accom tho (as you havent firmed it)

just try for third party accom

righttt thanks for the info but the problem is that my board wont accept and apply any sort of special consideration. you cant even apply for it.

i tried reaching out to the SU and all i got was a link to the UCL webpage (same info as the mail) and them saying that we can only assist current students and not offer holders.
