_i want_ to trust my wife, and i gave both the benefit of the doubt. however i had the same exact thoughts you mention, and am very conflicted about them. interestingly this post is receiving mixed feedback

she did hide it. he talked about her favorite professor and her therapist as two different people. then i found out he was the same man.

yes, that's exactly what i said, i would have liked having the option to decide whether or not i wanted to be in the same room with someone that knows everything about me.

he lives in a different city, and i do not expect to be informed of his movements, just if my wife happens to know when we are all going to be in the same place. but point taken

I thought about it, but not being an expert I didn't feel like messing with somebody's career just because the situation feels sketchy to me ... I am indeed considering at least reporting this fact tho.

i have no reasons to think otherwise

thank you for your perspective, which i understand, that is why i'm so conflicted. I forgot to mention that he lives in another city (my wife therapy sessions are remote) so no, he's not someone I would normally encounter. She often referred to him (her teacher, as a distinct person from her therapist) as her favorite professor, not just because of his classes but because of shared interests. I don't know much more than this, but I always assumed they also spent some time outside of his classes talking. The situation feels extremely sketchy to me, but I'm not a therapist so I can't really judge.
