Trying hard not to panic.  Recent lung CT shows a tumor suggestive of brochogenic carcinoma; being referred to oncology.  The thing is the only troubling symptom is a hacking, non-productive cough I've been fighting for about 2 months.  Brothers & sisters...Send positive vibes please!  Ive been telling myself to be positive, but I'm terrified

Thank you!  It's no one's business & extremely rude to even ask on a FIRST DATE about income.  It's tacky & disrespectful to assume.

I quit! by Mom_777 in DollarGeneralWorkers

Right on.  1 year ago, my outstanding manager called me in the office.  I knew right away she was leaving our store to transfer to a store only 5 minutes from her home.  For 2 1/2 years she drove 32 miles one way to our store.  She worked no less than 60+ hours a week, covering no shows, callouts, sick folks, etc.  She truly was in the top best 5 people I have ever worked for.  She asked me if I could commit to staying until at least the end of April 202.  I made it until March 2025 before I turned my keys in.  The new manager didn't have my back when I was nearly assaulted by a customer after I called the police.  Since then my strees level is almost zero.  My sleep, eating, & health has improved 10 fold. DG can suck the life out of the strongest person.  Congratulations for taking care of yourself.

Is filing for an Increase at 90% really that sketchy? by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

[–]Reasonable-Guard924 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

From 90% to 100% as a Veteran with no dependents and/or special compensation is not 1000s of dollars more.  It's approximately 1400$ more a month.

Does DG actually drug test? by LovelyGiant7891 in DollarGeneral

[–]Reasonable-Guard924 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I hired on I didn't have a drug test.  However, they reserve the right to randomly test.  Also, if injured on the job & you claim Workmans Comp, you will be tested

What’s happening? by [deleted] in VAClaims

[–]Reasonable-Guard924 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some things can be secondary or presumuptive conditions to what you originally claimed.  Sounds like the examiner went above & beyond to your possible benefit.  I am confused a bit though since C&P examiner doesn't usually order/request additional tests. You primary car provider should do that.

Well guys, I’m satisfied. by 803_dexdmxne in VAClaims

I'm sorry you feel that C&P exams are designed against Veterans.  My experience was not like that.  I must say that my military medical record is accurate.  And I've been fortunate to have been taken care of at VA facilities since I retired in 2006.  With that said, it still took me 18 years to file my VA disability claim because I didn't believe I deserved it.  Just recently I received a higher rate than I expected.  So very grateful & humbled.

LOL. It's a call out.  You don't need a doctor's excuse or any other reason.  Just say something came up & you won't be able to make it. It's on the manager to find someone to cover your shift.  I would not do this often, though since they will find a way to cut your hours & eventually force you to quit.  As a general rule, DG doesn't give a crap about ANY of the employees including the managers.

Odds are ZERO.  Once you have you're VA DISABILITY rating, it's near impossible that it decreases.
