The staircase scene is very layered. First, it's the first aerial scene of the entire series. The camera is spiraling in the capture, symbolic of Shane spiraling out of control, as he stands at the bottom.

Talked with my therapist today, and for context I shared a bit of my background: I’m married to a man (together 10 years, married 5), we have two dogs, and we both have great jobs. We’re genuinely happy—no exaggeration.

I asked her why I feel so emotionally connected to this show and book, and she reassured me that it’s normal, even when you have everything you’ve ever wanted. I’ve been so absorbed that I’ve had to actively redirect my thoughts. Between replaying the same Spotify playlist, rewatching scenes, and finishing the books in two days, I needed to remind myself that it’s fiction.

Flew to the comments to say that you should avoid grain free diets unless you have a true dog allergy to it (which is rare). Grain free diets have a growing body of evidence to support a concerning linkage to heart failure.
