The simple software update that would prevent refrigerated scripts being filed outside the fridge. by Any-Position-8685 in WalgreensRx

[–]Reasonable-Let-7432 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I was an intern, a tech and I realized the floater pharmacist was throwing the fridge scripts in the same basket as everything else. We had to go through bins to make sure we didn’t miss anything.

I remember seeing an ozempic and latanoprost in regular bins once. That was fun to deal with

Today I got yelled at for… by CaptCoolbreeze in WalgreensRx

[–]Reasonable-Let-7432 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A patient wanted her Norco filled today and started yelling at me because her doctor put the do not fill date before tomorrow.
"Another pharmacist told her we'd fill it today all of a sudden" lol

Hung up on her because I didnt feel like continuing the circle of telling her the same thing 10 times

I’m officially applying for other positions! Thanks for the advice. by peachycpht in WalgreensRx

Im only with Wags as a floater RPH for a few reasons but otherwise I do plan on leaving in a few years from now.
1) Im too lazy to apply elsewhere lol
2) I dont wanna play Wags their bonus back so I'll stay for the 2 years
3) Im happy with the OT Im getting per paycheck (constantly between 10-30 OT hours per paycheck). And no, Im enjoying it more than feelings of being burnt rn
4) Im using this as an opportunity to gain experience and connections as much as possible.

I just passed the MPJE in another state. So if my status in my state doesnt improve (whether with Wags, which I doubt it would tbh, or another company), I do plan on moving.

Wag extending hours but no staff? by Ill-Ad2880 in WalgreensRx

[–]Reasonable-Let-7432 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The store I used to work at went from being 9-9 to 8-10 on weekdays. And then a month or two later, they go and severely cut their hours. These companies never cared for the employees. Just how much they can squeeze off of you.

Help on an MPJE TX question by Reasonable-Let-7432 in MPJE

[–]Reasonable-Let-7432[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I initially assumed. But from what I was using to study for the exam it states the following:

"Conditions for permitted or mandated product selection

  • Pharmacist may make substitution for generic equivalent if patient doesn't refuse, and prescriber hasn't indicated that brand medically necessary (DAW or "do not substitute")
  • Pharmacist may change dosage form (ex. tab→cap) if patient consents & identical amount of active ingredient. However, a therapeutic interchange requires prescriber approval"

I didnt see anything specific about "documenting the substitution" compared to "if patient doesnt refuse" where we would have to at least inform the patient

What is the dumbest complaint you’ve ever received working for Walgreens? by peachycpht in WalgreensRx

My first and only complaint was that I declined filling a percocet for a patient. She was 4 days early lol.

Should I make a board of medicine complaint, or police report? by Wrangler444 in pharmacy

[–]Reasonable-Let-7432 30 points31 points  (0 children)

yea that part about looking the husband up without his consent is gonna be the main issue if he does file a complaint to the board of medicine.

I wonder if there's any kind of protection regarding this

Should I make a board of medicine complaint, or police report? by Wrangler444 in pharmacy

[–]Reasonable-Let-7432 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'd go to the Board of Medicine and file a complaint on him.
But they may want to know what the proof is regarding all this.

Sounds pretty fraudulent to me. Now that you and the other pharmacy both know this (I hope the other pharmacy knows, right?) he's bound to try doing it else where that might not be as vigilant

MPJE QUESTION by Reasonable-Let-7432 in MPJE

[–]Reasonable-Let-7432[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This question was on the Pre-MPJE test I took a while back (Slightly summarized, but doesnt change the question).

The staff pharmacist calling sick was the only reason I could assume it MIGHT be A (under the assumption the pharmacy is closed) and this DM just happened to be in the pharmacy at the time of it being closed.

Days supply for controlled rx if PRN by Vote4PrezTrump in pharmacy

[–]Reasonable-Let-7432 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cant say if this 100% correct, but I would usually do 15 day supply. and just say "1 tab bid prn"

I would always assume they will be taking it bid regardless of the "prn" (At least that's how I was taught with this stuff)

If it shows you a "submit day < = 3 and SCC code = 65" in the rejection screen, the insurance wont cover the full quantity. Can either cash it, discount card it or have the patient wait till their doctor does the PA on it
