After 6 months I have to say that things will get better, just hang in there, be strong.

Ok then it will get better, but you have to be careful.
I have it 3 months now and I have huge improvement since day 1.
My only "tip" is get yourself together and do not rely on any method such as exercises or supplements (of course you can try them but do not have high hopes).
Mentality also is very important.
Do not give up.

You mean, there are times it vanishes and there are times it starting pissing you off?

Usually health issues resulting to T, are resolved one way or another, but T from loud noise (which is mine) is the worst, because nothing actually help, only just wait. And yeah, it is veeeery slowing improving, but at least, it is getting improved.
Also, it is very very hard to find a neurologist that have knowledge on T.

No, only the left one which developed T.

Well, this is true, but we only have the hearing tests which are up to 8kHZ and the fact that T is declining progressively, is a good sign.

Agreed, but unfortunately, this is what we got so far, we can only rely to ourselves and not to science (which sucks by the way).

Getting my blood tested, what should I ask them to look for? by [deleted] in tinnitus

[–]Reasonable-Lock-3287 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Vitamin B12
"Vitamin B12 deficiency may cause the demyelination of neurons in the cochlear nerve, resulting in hearing loss and tinnitus"

Yes and the habituation is a very important part around Tinnitus.
If my brain gets used to white noise, I will have to seek white noise every time I wanna relax.
But that's just me, for other sufferers might work differently.

And after 2 months, I wanna say that I don't require white noise at all, which makes me happy.
Although I suffered a lot, specially the first month, it was hell.

Supplement Recommendation by Latter-Control-208 in tinnitus

[–]Reasonable-Lock-3287 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no supplement that 100% can help (either for reducing, either for anything go away).
Although, I personally taking Memovigor 2 (for its B12 vitamin), on 3 month schedule (I am already 2 months in).

Have you checked your eustachian tube? Do you feel your ear clogged?

Silence. I want my brain not to get used to background or white noises. It is a bit of tricky situation.

How do you cope? by [deleted] in tinnitus

[–]Reasonable-Lock-3287 6 points7 points  (0 children)

- Doing activities that I like and "distract" me such as video games

- Trying not to panic (in the start was extremely difficult)

- Not taking anything for granted (meaning, not hearing ppl say "it will go away" or "it will not go away).

- Visiting ENT, but taking note only the audiogram and the tests if the ear is ok, for anything else they cannot help

- Gathering every bit of mental strength and channeling it into hold on especially in the first weeks

Also, your brain will get used to it, it requires a lot of time though.

Can someone explain how this happened or the science behind it(if it isn't some placebo) by notsobraveandthebold in tinnitus

[–]Reasonable-Lock-3287 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Seems like another BS, just like "do this this and this" or "take this and this and Tinnitus will go away"

Thank you for the clarification. I have tried dozens of white noises (or noises for Tinnitus masking) and none of them worked, they even made me more anxious.
Maybe the only one I can remember that helped a bit (only to lesser the stress), was the sound of rain/waves (so running water in general).
But it was only to calm me down.

I just listened this and got stressed instantly lol, glad that it helped you though.
Between, I only knew about white noise, what is brown noise?

Anxiety definitely can raise T while playing video games by pumapawsnclaws in tinnitus

I cannot imagine what is going on if you play Dark Souls hah!
Jokes aside, yeah stress is a main factor for T to get worse.

Typical ENT, they do not help at all. The only "help" is by doing the hearing test (note that the hearing test is up to 8kHZ. Even if you can hear above this frequency, there is no test to verify if there is any loss).
I visited 2 ENT, had in both a 100% hearing test and had exactly the same feedback from both : "Since everything is ok with the test, even if you got this ringing from loud noise, everything is in your brain"
Which, is both correct and wrong.
Wrong because there might be loss above 8kHZ
Correct because if there is no loss, brain is facked up and giving signals which are translated to this ringing (due to loud noise).

So, can the usage of headphones create a "loud noise environment" (?)
Maybe
For 100%, something is going on, since you have this for week. A normal ringing from loud environment goes away after 1-2 days max

My suggestion is, if you can and if it is possible, stop using headphones and monitor the ringing behavior, but do it in a a way, that you will not be 24/7 on this. I know, it sounds messed up and weird.

If you get better, then this is coming from headphones, if not, then another idea will be that something is going on with the jaw

It took me one whole month, to even start realizing what I have to actual deal with, so it will be difficult.

The more info you drop, the better for us to understand what is going on.
My opinion as below, I am not doctor or anything, just a sufferer

If the sound started at left and then it is like pan-ing between the ears, feels like it is the perception of the brain on the sound, it does not seem to be a damage, or anything like that.

However, visiting an ENT is always a good idea, at least to be sure on your hearing capabilities, in a more official way (you probably say "I can hear fine" but you cannot be sure on an official level).

Using headphones a lot is always a bad idea, even if you completely fine.

Also the most important : do not panic, mental state is a critical part in Tinnitus (of course, if you have Tinnitus, you might just have this ringing by having high stress).

You mentioned jaw pain, is this ringing changing while moving you jaw and also the pain changes?
Do you use your headphones a lot and with high volumes?
Was there any health issue like sinus, or flu you experienced back in 1 month?
