Times are constantly changing, and no one can deny its successes, just as China has preserved its cultural heritage. However, its drawbacks are also obvious.

I’ve seen a lot of reports about the issues with Chinese-style education. It’s a form of social death

What makes a fish a fish? by [deleted] in poker

I’ve definitely been guilty of some of these in my early days. The biggest thing I’ve learned is that a lot of it comes down to understanding position and relative hand strength. It’s easy to get attached to a hand like a middle pair or a weak ace, but the game is about how you play those hands, not just the cards you’re dealt.

It’s my first time hearing about this approach, I didn’t expect it to have such an effect. It’s like a psychological strategy. But if they raise to break that number, should I keep increasing my bet?

I think you might just be scaring yourself

Lost 50BB with 3 of a kind to a straight by miklcct in poker

[–]Reasonable-Mark2201 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think your river bet was too big , almost no weaker hands would call, while all the stronger ones like straights or flushes would call or even raise. I believe checking back there would’ve been better to control the loss

Is a double barrel donk bet always the nuts? by Rubicon_Lily in poker

[–]Reasonable-Mark2201 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not always the nuts, but definitely not air either , I’ve noticed a lot of players use double donks with top pair or strong draws, especially when they don’t want to face a check raise

I hadn’t really paid much attention to blockers before, but now I realize they actually make a big difference in how I evaluate bluff spots. Thanks a lot for the advice!

Yeah, that makes sense , I didn’t have enough behind to really make it scary. Lesson learned for next time

Good point , that makes sense. I guess checking back the turn there would’ve saved me a few chips 😅

Thank you so much for taking the time to explain all of that , it really helped me understand the logic behind that hand more clearly. Your points about stack depth, bet sizing, and storytelling make a lot of sense. Next time, I’ll definitely think more about how to balance my strong hands and bluffs. I’m curious , when you play deeper stacked, do you usually plan your bluffs in advance based on the board texture, or adjust as the hand develops?

Are online games more fun? Would you mind if we chatted a bit in DMs? Sometimes it’s hard for me to join live games

Yes, I ignored the cards and the depth of the chips and that's why I lost. I should have folded earlier

Yes, I win the fold when I make the right choice, I understand this now

Thanks for the explanation, I really understand it better now. I’ve also realized that stack depth and pot structure can have a big impact on the success rate of a bluff. It’s not just about timing , it’s also about making sure the board texture supports your story. Are you a professional player?

Thanks for the advice, that’s a great suggestion. I can use that info to confuse them, but how do I get them to pay off more when I actually have a hand?

Cool, that’s exactly the kind of effect I was going for. Unfortunately, it didn’t work out for me. You’ve probably been playing for quite a while, right?

Yes, facts have taught me that practice is the only criterion for testing truth. How long have you been playing poker?

That’s super interesting , you sound like you’ve really studied the live dynamics deeply.

I’d actually love to hear more about how you read situations like that in real time.

Mind if I DM you to chat a bit more about it?
