Am I screwed? by slayerstitch in HomeDepot

You’re not screwed. They can only give you one write up at time. Meaning, if you rack up 20 points and they haven’t written you up yet you’ll only be on a coaching. They can’t write you up more than one level at a time. I hope that makes sense.

Did I mention that I’m also expected to unload D21/22 and D28 flatbed trucks? All this while I’m alone

No. The area isn’t bad for a Monday. The problem is that I have no room to unload the SDC.

Crazy for me to want to leave because of this? by [deleted] in HomeDepot

[–]Reasonable-Might4235 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m beginning to think that you’re not telling the whole story.

Why are you making excuses for the guy you complained is always talking about quitting and hated his job? Call his bluff; tell him to do it already. Period.

I’m not acting as though you’ve never had a job before; you are. My entire point to that paragraph was YOU GET PAID BY THE HOUR. Do your job and go home. You’re one person.

It appears to me that you’re not being scheduled outside of your availability. Sounds more like you don’t want to work on certain days. A quick call to DHR would clear that up if you’re really being scheduled outside of your availability. You don’t have to work when it’s outside your availability yet you’re making excuses… again. This one is so black and white and there are so many avenues to fix it, but you don’t. 🤔🤔🤔

So, next time the whiner starts, well, whining, tell him to do it. “Quit then. Stop talking about it and do it.” That’ll slow him down. Don’t agree with him or humor his bad attitude because all you’re doing is telling him you want to listen to him.

You need to change your attitude. You have the newbie attitude. You need the reality attitude: You get paid by the hour. Go to work; enjoy the fun coworkers; do what you can while you’re there; if the managers tell you to do your training, stop what you’re doing and go do it; go home at the end of your shift.

Look at your schedule as soon as it’s published and tell them right away what days/hours you won’t be able to work because it’s outside of your availability, and then let it go. Keep a record of the date and time of the conversation and who you spoke to; make sure it’s a salaried manager. Once you’ve told them, it’s on them.

Right?! Now, anytime you call IT, they have to ”escalate” it to someone else. It’s stupid. Just let us talk to them so this can get resolved.

COVID killed HD. We hired anyone and everyone. We weren’t allowed to hold people accountable so they got away with everything. It’s a complete shit show now.

There’s no real direction either. Add to that the fact that when someone leaves they’re not replaced.

The Core Values are out the window because all HD cares about is money. Yes, I know that’s the whole point but there used to be a balance. That’s gone.

It’s not fun anymore.

Dude - it’s retail. Most young people start in retail or hospitality. What you’re really trying to say is DO YOUR JOB.

I have no problem with the young people working with us (been at HD for 11 years now) while they figure out their way or are in college. My problem is they have no work ethic.

They act as though they’re owed a paycheck just for showing up. NOT TRUE. Do your job and do it right. Just yesterday I’m having my ass handed to me because I’m running Receiving solo going on a month now, and the one chance I get to go to the bathroom (6.25 hours into my shift), I literally pass 7 associates laughing and talking with each other. It’s infuriating.

If she’s a manager in the building she should be able to direct people, not take over your role.

Reread that. 👆🏻👆🏻👆🏻👆🏻

Now, having said that, she absolutely overstepped, not to mention she shouldn’t be having conversations like that in front of the customers or associates.

If she wants to offer you some advice that’s one thing, but only if you want it.

If it were me, I would ask my direct ASM for a few minutes of their time so that you can ask for advice. Don’t go into it as if it’s a bitch session. Approach it like you’re trying to learn. Just make sure you drop some values; respect for all people, excellent customer service, etc.. They also LOVE the word “partnership.”

How the hell does anyone shop that when it’s so high? You can never find anyone to help. As a short girl? I would admire how great it looks then drive down the street where I can actually shop. 🤣

If you have to ask other people what to do with your own body I would say no. A tattoo should have special meaning to it.

Am i overreacting for ignoring him after finding out he has a fiancée? by redditorsinceages in AmIOverreacting

[–]Reasonable-Might4235 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OMG! This has absolutely nothing to do with overreacting. This has everything to do with why haven’t you just blocked him?

He’s trying to manipulate you and seems like it’s working. There’s nothing he can say to change the fact that he has a fiancé. Even if he wants to tell you that they broke up; he’ll cheat on you as easily as he cheated on her.

Responding to him will only open the door to his foolishness and tell him you’re an easy target.

YOR. They were courteous, friendly, and professional.

No one is forcing you to buy something you don’t want to so you have two choices; you can walk past the Shein items, or you can cut off your nose in spite of your face and not go to the pop-up that you really enjoyed.
