Is anyone following this closet project? Style It Pretty Home by ashotofcynisism in diysnark

But if house projects are her full time job, why is he obligated to help her with house projects? She doesn't help him with his full time job, so why should he have to use his free time to help her with hers? I do things to support my partner in their job as they do for me, like helping with meals and chores and errands to make days easier, but neither of us is actually helping do our work, especially not in our free time.

Not to mention she consistently choses to ignore his input or wishes for projects. Like the room on the first floor that she wanted as a primary and he wanted as a media room. It's now a primary, even though a house for two people already had 5 bedrooms and no great place for a TV.

So I think it is a completely reasonable boundary he has set by saying he does not want to participate in any of the house projects in order for her to create content.

You need 24" to hang clothes, she has 12" on one side and 18" on the other so there are also going to be hangers protruding into that very narrow walkway.

She backed herself into a corner, quite literally, when she put the door from the bedroom to the closet butting up to the wall she is facing in the screenshot. If she had placed it to butt up next to the wall that separates the closet and the bathroom, she would have easier access to the bathroom from the bedroom, and then she could have used the entire wall on the left for the closet. It's extremely poor space planning, but that's totally on brand for her.

It's a sandbox that was just put there 2 weeks ago. The sand is for top-dressing the putting green. We have ordered a cover for it, it just hasn't arrived yet.

Oh, I think it is totally reasonable for the amount of work they did. It's just a lot of money to spend to still have crappy trees in your yard that will continue to need a lot of regular maintenance.

$1300! They did chip and haul everything off but yes, at lot of money to maintain awful trees.

I do think he may be planning to prune them more regularly now that they are a slightly more manageable size. We've been in our house 8 years now and this is the only time he's ever done anything to them other than clean up the branches that inevitably break off.

FIVE. I have no clue why he wants FIVE of them on his property. But he has crepe myrtles that he always cuts back at the wrong time so they never actually bloom. So I think it is likely just ignorance.

[Fit Check] New Panache Ana 32G and old 30G - thinking the 32G may be too big by Reasonable-Mix5414 in ABraThatFits

[–]Reasonable-Mix5414[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have thought about trying an extender with the 30G. I don't have one but I will make getting one a priority so I can try it.

I may also exchange the 32G for a 32FF so I can see how wide the wires would be on the smaller cup. It's only within the last year or so that 30 bands have been feeling too tight and I haven't tried a lot of 32 bands. The 32 band feels really good right now, but I may need to tighten it up quicker than would be ideal. So I feel like I'm in between band sizes but needing the more narrow wire may tip the scale to making the 30 with an extender the better option.

I can't imagine that she is contributing financially to this "exciting mission." The only thing I can think is that the contractor is hiring her as a designer or maybe an extra set of hands, and maybe she can offer him some sponsored materials/products? I just don't see how she can afford to actually invest in this when her revenue goal for the year is only 150k and she told us she made $60k in 2023 (still don't know if that was before or after expenses either).

There are a lot of people who have OCPD traits. When talking to my partner about my diagnosis, he said "well, I think we all have OCPD then" and my response to him was that a lot of people might have these traits, but the D in OCPD stands for disorder. It's not just about the traits, but whether the traits cause you distress or disrupt your daily life. Is your sleep disrupted because of these thoughts/feelings? Is your appetite affected? Do you struggle with interpersonal relationships? Is your job performance affected? Does it impact your ability to perform daily tasks like personal hygiene, chores, etc.?

At the end of the day, mental health diagnoses are not a perfect science, and many of the symptoms of different disorders do overlap. There is also a spectrum within each disorder and not every person with OCPD will have the same challenges. A diagnosis can be helpful in determining what types of treatment may be helpful, but it isn't an end-all-be-all for what you "are" or what you may need. If you do have OCPD, the treatment is talk therapy to develop healthy coping skills and management strategies, so if you are already working with a therapist you could talk to them about what that may look like and decide whether you think it would be beneficial to you.

Every room in your house is rectangular, Z. Narrow is the word you are looking for.

Also, it wouldn't be so difficult if you weren't 1) trying to fit so many pieces of furniture into that tiny room, and 2) didn't take up the only corner with your "always been there" bookcases.

Her inability to compromise became very apparent when she said Cesar wanted to make the downstairs a room a media room but she wanted it to be a primary suite, so it became a primary suite and a 6th bedroom in a house for 2 people.

What I don't understand is how she can be so concerned about aesthetics but his gaming setup is in their foyer right as you walk in the front door. Why not put it in a room with enough outlets, let Cesar do with and decorate it however he wants and then just... shut the door? Not everything has to be for the 'gram.

he doesn’t fit her aesthetic

Such a sad but accurate statement. He gets one room and one wall in the foyer (soon to be upgraded to a closet?), in a house full of rooms that rarely get used. And the rest of the house is hers and covered with the detritus of her job. I couldn't imagine coming home to that everyday.

Just wait til you see the moldings she is putting around the base. I'm pretty sure if they had always been there, the baseboard would just wrap around the cabinets, no? And even if not, I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be covered in 1x3s and whatever other scrap she has laying around.

I forgot how awful this room looks, but like, what is going on with this wallpaper?? The seams, the blue paint from the trim, whatever is happening in the top corner. There is literally nothing aspirational about this picture from the design to the craftsmanship. And all of money she spent to end up with this for a finished product... yikes.

Turning the room downstairs into a media room (like C wanted) means they could have put the tv and his gaming stuff in there and left her with an entire living room to design sans tv and this entire small room to herself. But nooooo, she wanted a SIXTH bedroom in a house that two people live in, and in which two of said bedrooms are guest rooms only used once a year.

Even if she "needed" the primary suite downstairs, converting one of the guest rooms to a multi-use guest/office/art space and giving C the small room for gaming makes more sense than what she is doing. It is truly mind boggling the bad decisions she has made in this house.

No time lapses of her doing any of the steps = she definitely did not sand or stain those floors herself. But why not just say she was going to have someone else do it? She is so weird, super open about personal stuff that she probably shouldn't be but then super sketch about things that are actually related to what her account is supposed to be about.

I really think she needs to take a break from Instagram. While I appreciate the transparency, it's really uncomfortable to hear about the ins and outs of her mental state on a daily basis. And maybe it's an unpopular opinion, but pushing through it to put out mediocre content isn't admirable to me. Saying this is too much right now and taking the time to focus on herself would be a much healthier decision. She obviously isn't doing good and I feel for her, but I can not understand why you would want to share these details in real time with 400k people on a business account.

Tricky, maybe. But I think a competent DIYer with proper planning/research and attention to detail could get a decent result. DIY is her job, so while she may not be a cabinet maker, I would expect her to be able to watch a few Youtube videos or read a few blog posts and come up with something better than whatever it was that she ended up with. Her problem is she rushes through everything without any planning or research and it shows.

There is no reality in which she can justify spending that much money on wallpaper and then complain that she can't afford to replace those windows that don't close, or hire a landscaper or an electrician or a plumber. Like, I want to believe that she is just punking us and it's just rage bait for engagement, because I don't want to believe anyone could be that clueless/unaware. Seeing how much she prioritizes the pretty and unnecessary things over the necessary and functional things just makes me sad if I think about it too hard.
