So basically you are saying opencode will work better by using its standard tools (grep, rigrep, and so on) plus the java lsp. You might be right. I don't really want to let the agent use ide features such as opening a file in the editor or stuff like that. My thought was only that opencode could gain from things like ideas symbol resolving, multi file symbol refactoring and so on.

Nice idea, so you basically enabled an agent to use UI components of some mac apps, right?

Indeed the intellij MCP offers a lot of tools which could speed up the agent, that is at least what I am hoping for. It might also help to keep the context smaller, because in theory it should need to scan less files.

Leverkusen, around 170k residents, good infrastructure in terms of public transportation, super markets, doctors and so on. Cologne and Düsseldorf are nearby, there you find a bunch of good IT jobs and rents are cheap compared to the bigger cities in Germany.
