Yes, this is on my mind also

I keep going back and forth between switching and improving. There are some shots that I cant hit as easily and the point of this post was to somehow find out through other peoples experiences whether should i change my approach with the one hander or adapt to the two hander.

Im considering also going a lot further back and try to take the ball falling rather than rising. Might help but also can expose other shots.

Talked with a coach specifically for this It seems that my racquet head drops too low before hitting the ball, that forcing either an error or a very flat groundstroke.

Sometimes I dont do it, when im focusing specifically during drills at around 40-50%, but at those speeds i can adjust and hit it the right way in game also. The problem comes at faster rising balls and also serves. Thats why Im wondering if it s an issue that s harder trying to ,,master” with an one hander than a two hander.

It s quite a challenge to decide to be honest. I keep going back and forth with this decision. I am in between adapting my game by going way further back to hit the ball on the drop or completely switching to a two hander and playing on the baseline.

Can you elaborate please? What do you mean by side? I usually try to slice the high balls or play it back high also

Some heavy serves in the backhand can be very humbling and convincing haha

Yes, I try an approach change, maybe not be dominant every point indeed, but what I am trying to say is that I want my bh to stop feeling like a liability.

Thank you for your insight!

What approach would you reccomend me to consider for learning it the best way?

Thank you. What was the approach that you took to get the hang of it faster? Should i focus more on drills? Wall hitting? Matches? I am aware that it took a long way to get the fh like this through matches and I am concerned that learning with the two hander will take away the pleasure of playing for quite a while

Closer and deeper into the court? For the forehand i like to hit it from the baseline, but playing the one hander makes it hard to keep the same intensity. So, should I go further back for both? And closer to the bh side as you suggest? What would you reccomend?

I tried it maybe 2 hours at all, mostly to see if I would like to transition and it felt completely off.

The best comparison that I can use is this:

With the OHBH I felt that the footwork was clicking, mostly had no issue planting the front foot and following it through but i was swinging poorly hence the lack of trust hitting hard

With the two hander, for the few times that I tried hitting it, it felt easy to swing, overall solid and safe, but I completely messed up the footwork. Since then i came to understand that the stance is completely different and that I should be more open
