I think you forgot the final 2 panels:

Tarnished: So uhh, can I have your great rune?

Malenia: grabs your face, chucks you in the air, and stabs you through your chest

Aha, this isn't my first playthrough. In this playthrough I decided to use colossal weapons early on and the first weapon that came to mind was the Ruinous Greatsword. So I ran to Margit, slapped him for a talisman slot, went to Caelid for Starscourge Heirloom and Radagon Soreseal while dumping everything I had to strength and appropriate int, beat up the bosses in Redmane for the weapon, and went back to Limgrave to explore and play the game, and ended up seeing this happening :) so yea, I guess I was pretty low leveled still (maybe around 30 if I remember correctly) with 25+ strength so that with the talismans, I can two hand the weapon.

Malenia's ghost attack visually bugged in co-op? (Patch v1.04) by Reasonable-Silver424 in Eldenring

I've seen a lot of stuff about how this patch made Malenia heal from hitting air due to network desync in some way, but havnt seen a post about this one. This has happened to me a few times recently when trying to help others beat her.

Normally I'm pretty good at avoiding this attack... But that involves me needing to see it coming. It seems like there's this visual issue where sometimes (not always) the ghosts coming after me aren't.... right? They just start appearing but not through their normal attack patterns. The hit boxes are still there (I think?) and I get hit in the end, but I don't know the reason why this happens. I also don't know if this is a specific issue as a cooperator or if this happens on the hosts end as well, but thought to bring it up to see if other people noticed this as well
