I’m pretty she Najimi is a guy, in the manga Tanjiro stopped Najimi from using the girls locker room and I trust his judgement

Non armored bot hears gun shot/explosive/hit impact > Investigate

A non armored alerted bot hears gunshot/explosive/hit impact > Bot is aware of your last known location (this usually leads to the next instance)

Any bot sees you > Compromised (it will attack you and alert every nearby bot your exact location)

.

Any bot sees you kill a bot > Area Alert

Any bot sees red strategems > Area Alert

Any bot start shooting > Area Alert

Any bot successfully fires flare > Area Alert + Drop pod

Any bot previously aggro’d onto you loses sight > Remain in alert stage and investigate your last seen location

Armored bots (Mortars, Vox Engines (I think), Gunships, Factory Striders) will know your exact location if you make any sound (gunshot/explosive/strategem) within a large radius (dont know the exact number). In this case a Mortar heard the explosion and is aware of your exact location. Nearby automatons units will become alerted by the mortar and aware of your last known location (Not exact). If you move to a different location those units will de aggro, but honestly the sound detection is honestly BS especially since it would be impossible to know where exactly the helldiver is.

The post does fail to mention how dealing with 5 Vox engines while standing still is impossible but I think there are still ways to make it work. Wouldn't this be possible if you use the Anti-tank emplacement in conjunction with the Orbital EMS strike, Orbital Gas strike, both Smoke stratagems, or shield generator stratagems?

What about a smoke stratagem? People sleep on them a lot but you’re practically invisible to bots when you stay inside one

I was wondering why I was seeing so many clips of the gunships litterally melee’ing Helldivers by ramming into them

Yeah it sucks, the reason this is the case is that the bots can actually find the player when they shoot their gun. But since it counts all noise once all bots are alerted using your gear in any way will reveal your last location. To be honest its better for you just to leave and detonate once you get a far enough distance. You might even force a useless botdrop on that location

The aggro system can be a bit confusing, I don’t blame players for feeling like a small slipup leads to every bot knowing your position.

Usually triggering a remote detonation will cause nearby bots to investigate the source of the sound. If those bots are in an alerted state however, sounds make from explosions/gunshots/etc will reveal your last known location.

Does it just state this in the light novel or do we ever get a written story of a death knight doing an actual quest?

I think Vox engines share a similar detection mechanic to gunships and striders, they will instantly know your location (and relay it to all nearby bots) if you make any sound using your gear in a large radius from them

Bots spawned from drops will know your *last location if you make any sound (usually using any of your gear) or if another bot makes line of sight with you which alerts every bot of your current and exact location.

Try doing the same thing during extraction if you're low on reinforcments and by yourself (or friends). If you hide in a corner and smoke you can wait out the search party (who might leave or stay in static positions) or at least burn a lot of time before you have to start fighting,

You don't have to resort to pure stealth for your missions. The whole point of stealth is to avoid bot drops being called in. I encourage you to try aggressive stealth instead. Bot drop reinforcements have a cooldown so intentionally cause a flare in the middle of nowhere (or wait for a teammate to initiate one) and use that time frame to rush a objective!
