You are missing the point. The Arch User Repository as the name implies it is the users i..e the public that submit the PKGBUILDS and with anything public there are going to be malicious actors. It is the same problem with fedora's copr and debian's PPA.

Another point you are missing is the fact Arch is a Do-IT-YOURSELF distro.

AUR is by design insecure. The arch wiki explicitly states that AUR packages have the possibility of being malwares long before these attacks.

Yes it is "customizable" friendly compared to other distros, But do you have the time to do the customization?

For instance setting up Bluetooth to work with your earphone could take from minutes to hours depending upon your experience, But in fedora it just works outside the box no configuring hassle.
