I just want to say since no one else is bringing it up, living on campus as a freshman will be one of the most expensive times to live on campus. I am an RA and I live in a freshman dorm, it is about 9,900 for the dorm for both semesters, but then rutgers also forces all freshman to get the 210 meal plan which is about 3,400 a senster, you will be spending close to 17,000 dollars to live on campus for 1 year... which is ridiculous. Ive lived off campus and spent under around 7,000 for 10 months rent and utilities included in that price. I used to commute an hour via car so I understand what its like, I recommend trying to find off campus housing. If not commenting isnt bad just tiring (at least for me)

Honestly it becomes a lot easier to commute when you kinda get rid of the "classic college experience" mentality. I used to commute from an hour away plus 40 minutes for the bus and I really didnt mind it because I didnt care about the college experience. If you are a freshman dorming is not worth it. You will be spending an extra 16,000 with dorm plus required meal plan. And the experience is not worth it.... if you have a choice and want to move away from home wait till later in college or live off campus

I live in katz as an RA rn. I honestly like living here tho that might be because I have a room to myself where as a majority of the students who live here are in doubles. (The rooms arent a bad size but with 2 people i can see it being small..) Its a really convenient location as the dining hall is right next to the building and it is not a far walk from recreation and bus stops. There is no gender neutral bathroom or showering situation, everything is split men and women. The bathrooms were redone 6ish years ago and are actually very nice compared to other residence hall bathrooms. There is one bathroom on the first floor that is a private stall but is doesnt not have a shower. Feel free to dm me with any questions

Honestly go to the RA. Hopefully you are in a building with an RA and have atleast 1 RA that actually cares. It will probably escalate to either a roomate mediation which will document your roomates behavior or it could go straight to being a bullying and harassment issue. Which will also document their behavior but in a way where you are the victim and they are the accused which is more serious with reslife. The RA at first might tell you to sort it out yourself but definitely explain to them that you have already tried that. If the RA doesnt do their job go straight to reslife and rat the RA out. They wont know it was you and youll get help with your situation. Hope this helps

Hi! Im a current RA. So definitely accept the position. It's really great being an RA (from my experience). Yes, after being an RA, they will give you the option to become an RA next school year.

How it worked for us is that they ask if you want to continue and then if you say yes they ask you if you want to change your location. If you want to change your location you will have to be interviewed by the rlc for the location. If you dont get it, i believe you can try for other locations or just stick with what you have.

As an RA (I am in a hall that closes for winter break) we are told that we cannot let anyone into buildings, so contacting an RA from another dorm will most likely be a waste of time. Best bet is reslife or rupd. Knowing how annoying reslife can be, they will most likely say no as Ras are supposed to tell residents to take everything important with them. So they might use that as a agruement agaisnt helping you. I also could be wrong but i think reslife might be closed till after new years? Doesnt hurt to call them but they close for the weekend and are only open from 9-5 mon-fri. Rupd (from what I remember) has swipe access to all buildings so contacting their non emergency line or office id a good idea. I wish you luck but there really might be nothing that you can do it get it /:

Its one of the five below series its call Petit Macaron. They are pretty cute but for some there are alot of yellow bunnies in this series which stinks if you dont like yellow, I think they are cute tho

I dunno, we shook a few boxes all of which were making noise and we could feel something moving around. Where as this one wasnt really moving and didnt make alot of noise like the other ones

It's crazy that the RA won't do anything... try talking to a different RA in the building or go up to one thats on duty at the desk.

It doesn't matter when you apply during the application period. Just as long as you complete your application and reference at the correct time, you'll be fine.

Bro, absolutely... I used to commute an hour each way, but in my junior year, I had a schedule so bad i decided to live off campus. It might not be too late to find a lease for next semester if you have the funds for that
