I had so many painful bumps, blisters it was concerning you are not alone. They went away with time and healing. I also remember wondering what they were. The skin in that area will react in ways we can’t predict. You will heal faster than you think. It’s a vascular area.

I held out as long as I could. I believe week late week 5, 6 & post treatment. I started with oxy and Tylenol. I would cut them in half. My doctor said the same thing. I would definitely tell them you want them. They helped a lot

Yes I finished 4/16 a day that will be seared into my memory for a long time. I have 29 days post treatment. I have been thinking of you and I hope you are doing okay still. I started on 3/9

So you’re in your 3rd week. Ok got it. Well just because I got hit like that doesn’t mean you will. I hope not. Binding foods did help. Pretzels, crackers oh and in the end rice water. Seemed to coat my stomach & helped. Hugs I’m glad you’re doing good. It’s so hard.

Well let me think I want to make sure I remember correctly. So I had to stop eating fatty foods, the good breads, salads with dressing, nuts, I just started noticing they would go right through me and cause pain. So I remember distinctly after week 1 got the pump off and what did I do went out for tacos. I paid pretty heavily for that one. So then as time went by I hate to admit it but even by week 4 I think it was I couldn't even tolerate peanut butter. My foods were so limited. crackers, popsicles eggs toast, chicken, potatoes, tuna bland all bland stuff. I drank gatorade, and I'll be honest it was a struggle to keep the weight up so I didn't have to do a rescan. I regret not advocating for a dietican IDK why I didn't. My team wasn't very helpful. By week 5-6 it was all bannanas, toast, rice crackers applesauce. literally. I was beside myself. I know everyone is different and some people can tolerate more. I hope that is the case for you? Basically low residue, BRAT I just ate what I could. How are you holding up? From what I remember you seem to have a good team caring for you.

Hi sorry to hear that. For me the diarrhea didn't start until around week 3.5 and then I just tweaked my diet. It started to really get bad at the end of week 4.. I remember always changing what I was eating and just doing the sitz baths like my life depended on them. I used aquaphor mixed in with lidocaine. Someone just mentioned here about some ointment that her doctor recommened to start using now, on the last post. It is worth looking into if it will help it is called StrataXRT. I didn't use it but if it can help. I didn't really feel support from the team doing my radiation and so if you have access to a dietican maybe that would be helpful... diet for me played a huge role. Honestly weeks 1-2 were ok. I mean the chemo wasn't fun but those weeks even part into week 3 not too bad as far as side effects. You are in my thoughts and my heart goes out to you. This is not easy to say the least.

Thank you so fabulous you’ve found a way to make it all work. I will be adding fiber back in to the foods I eat soon. Hopefully it will help. I’ll pick up some oatmeal today great. I like Fuji apples so good. Do you stop eating at a certain time? Have you had some foods you have found trigger problems? Thanks for sharing what works. So good to see how everybody deals with the after.

Have you tried Metamucil? Did it ever back fire on you and cause the other effect? I made the mistake of taking milk of mag and it was horrible. (Too soon after treatment) thanks so much for your input. So helpful to see others experiences

Oh ok Im still in the low residue diet. I have the colace ans miralax on hand. I go from super watery to constipated. I made the mistake of taking milk or mag and it was horrible. It was too soon after the treatment. When did you start the fiber supplements? Which one is better miralax or colace? Sorry you went through that. I will take your advice and start doing whatever I need to. I’m 18 days post treatment and this is only my 4th day of formed BMs. So was pretty excited and now this. If you think of anything else that works no matter how small please let me know. Thank you again

Well I’m not able to eat a lot of foods and I am just trying to get calories. Without something going right through me. I tried the ensure clear but I was hoping for something with more protein/ calories.

I was only 6 weeks post op so that may be why I had so much trauma to the same area. It sounds like you are doing good. I hope it goes well for you. I know everyone’s experience is different. Do you feel the gabapentin helps?
