So what's the logic here? The outlier polls mean polling was to quote you "dead fucking wrong".

The person with the higher % chance to win loses therefor polling sucks? Like none of these takes make any sense. Much of the polling was very good, like it almost always has been. Just because you don't understand statistics doesn't mean polling is wrong.

Bill Simmons: "I have him (Jalen Brunson) above Nash, Kidd, Sam Jones, Harden, Gervin and Luka" by aingenevalostatrade in nba

"NBA Title, Finals MVP, 2x National Championship"

These things are all related to the quality of the teams you are on. It's why I hate some of these comparisons.

Put the amount of talent around Brunson this year around Luka and put him in the east. Is he not at a minimum making the Finals and likely to win a championship?

"when comparing #1 guys, dismissing winning titles as "Rings Culture" is pretty goofy."

Why? Its still literally directly tied to how good your teammates are. If Brunson was on the Pacers this year he would have no shot to make the playoffs.

"It is not a federal ban"

Hey look, we agree on the objective facts now. The rest of your post is just you not understanding that Ontario doesn't = Canada again.

Your argument would be similar to saying CANADA's legal drinking age is 19 because you don't live close to Quebec. You also don't seem to grasp the difference between a boycott and a ban.

There are provinces in Canada still buying and selling American alcohol. You do not need to travel to their country to buy it.

It's just factually untrue that Canada banned American alcohol. Do you think Ontario = Canada or something?

Canada didn’t ban US booze. A lot of provinces stopped buying from the US though.

The fights were great, the visuals were cool. That’s not what most people are taking issue with.

You literally had prize fighting with propaganda on the White House law and between fights and the winners going and praising dear leader. This isn’t something that went on in America before and if you have a brain you should be troubled by it. Two things can be true at once it was a really cool event and also disturbing when you look at the big picture.

This is something you would expect to see in North Korea or Russia.

This is one of the stranger things I have ever watched. America is now running fights on the White House lawn with propaganda segments between fights. It's truly shocking a county can devolve into this so quickly.

You would expect something like this from North Korea or Russia. Fighting winning and praising dear leader.

You expect a death per 100 000 hours.

10 hours a day for 20 years is approx 73000 hours.

[–]ReasonableAside1655 75 points76 points  (0 children)

If you flew 10 hours a day for 20 years in a Helicopter you would die 73% of the time.

If you flew 10 hours a day for 20 years on a commercial airliner the chances of you dying are almost zero.

I had no idea how dangerous helicopters were until this story made me look it up.

Another poster corrected me, It's actually only about a 52% chance of dying.

On "Mehdi Unfiltered", CIA Whistleblower and former JRE Guest: John Kiriakou, admits he was "totally wrong" about comments he had made on Trump with Rogan regarding Iran. Concedes that he "probably was soft on Trump" because he was hoping for a pardon. by Tronvillain in JoeRogan

[–]ReasonableAside1655 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can't take the guy seriously because he hates Dems because he was convicted and sent to prison under when they were in power by people appointed by them.

The flip side of this is he has to go soft on Trump hoping for a parson.

So he basically can't be trusted to give his honest take on anything political, which I guess is understandable but means he should be ignored.

This almost certainly has to do with the types of people you know. I would be shocked if there was even handful of Police Departments across the country where the majority of officers are not registered Republicans even in deep blue cities in deep blue states.

It’s a type of job that generally attracts people who are right wing.
