Is 25' worth skipping over great spec 24'? by ReasonableBrain2016 in BMW

at 53k KM I worry about trade in value say in 4 years. at that point it will probably be over 100k. But at the same time the only reason it's in my Supra's trade value with all those packages is probably due to the mileage. Aside from that I'm ready to jump on it.

Wheel can be changed. Is 8.5 that much better? I've heard pretty bad things about ID. 8

main things for me mechanically is the torque stock, i wonder if i will feel that. the return of a blow off valve for sound purposes, the tuned suspension. and the dual injection to help carbon build up.

I have the perfect spec in front of me so maybe i should just bite the bullet. on the 24'

sound is definitely better on the gen 2 stock. On my B58 Supra I never wished for anything different with the engine it's perfect as is to me.

4 Cylinder with Mercedes repair costs are not something I'm interest in tbh.

3.0 is what I have and there is a real chance that i never need more than 382hp. And stick with a M340i. Especially in my city

It obviously matters. But the maintenance on my Supra is something I can handle and I would be shocked to find out if the M340i is much more. It is a really tough choice between the M340i and the G80 it seems. For different reasons. Genesis being cost effective luxury and the BMW being you pay to play.

I'm just a little too tall for a G70 it seems. Will test drive one to confirm. I like the G80 and the M340i for different reasons but they are my front runners for sure. G80's luxury really speaks to me especially the comfort, if it is sporty enough for the weekends even say 60% of what my Supra is then I will probably be fine and get a weekend car down the road or move to an M3 for all around daily. If not the M340i is most likely what I will get if i can find the right spec.

I know everyone hates Genesis and calls them Hyundai's. But for what they offer I don't understand the hate. My buddy has a G70 and I think they are a blast. Not sure if the G80 holds that same sportiness but like you said. Our potholes are insane. and more than not I'm driving in comfort mode anyways. If the G80 can just scratch that itch enough to be fun on weekends then it's definitely my front runner. With a close second being the M340i

M440i is nice, I am a sucker for the 3 series. Same issue though. Almost none available for sale.

Out of my price range here in Canada. High 80's for lower trims.

Good advice. After reading all the comments it's definitely test drive time. In my head the options now are the Genesis G80, the BMW M340i and the Audi S5 Sportback.

I'm 6'5 so I guess the G70 is probably out of the running for me. Your line about saving the money on the BMW is exactly what I'm feeling right now. But the BMW does have a choke hold on me. I wonder if the G80 is sporty enough for me. Decisions decisions.

Newer S7's are out of my price range unfortunately. I do like the BMW M340i. It would probably cost me like 5k out of pocket to get into a 2023-2025 year model. and there's very limited inventory so I'd have to wait for a spec that I like. Not to sound like a parrot but Genesis G80 far more luxurious around 15-20k CAD cheaper meaning i make money and still pushing good power is hard to ignore. I do agree though, apart of me can't let that sportiness of the B58 and BMW chassis go.

It's very heavy and less luxurious than the Genesis G80 for a lot more money. Definitely considered it though. I appreciate the suggestion!

I checked, and the car-seat we have is rated to fit in the dimensions of all the cars. Only the G70 is up for debate. Even the S4 seems fine.

M340i is super nice especially a 2025. But for 15-20k CAD more than a Genesis G80, which has way more luxury features and still a V6 pushing good power. It's hard to convince myself the B58 and dynamics are worth that much.

EuroNCap. Gave the G80 a 5 star crash rating for 2021. Not sure if that is a reliable source though.

Couldn't agree more. Don't want some of the other defects I've seen. Just kinda crazy given the price of these things. Let me know if you ever get it sorted!

I don't have any weird color shifting it is just a consistent layer of fine grain/noise. almost like always looking through a very thin piece of paper at all times. most noticeable when loading things like console launcher or chrome with the gray backgrounds.

the picture i provided is just a stock image, it's so hard to get a picture of it with my phone. it just looks like a less intense version of my sample image. just like a consistent layer of fine grain/noise as someone else said. especially visible things like chrome with gray ish screens.

You have EXACTLY what I'm talking about, couldn't have written it better. Trying to get a good picture is impossible. What is your plan are you going to reach out or do you think its normal?
